Revelation 19:6-10 - The entire bible is the story of Jesus' pursuit and wooing of his bride. It all leads up to the climactic wedding banquet of the lamb in Revelation 19. But the story of how we get there is what makes Christmas so compelling.

Revelation 5:1-14 - Revelation 5 is one of the most beautiful chapters in the Bible, and it unfolds as a play in three acts. First we see John weeping, then John beholding Jesus, then John with of all creation singing their praise to the one who is WORTHY.

Revelation 1:9-20 - The book of Revelation reveals Jesus to us like no other part of the Bible. Jesus is overwhelmingly glorious, and his glory is seen in heaven, at the cross, and in the local church.

Romans 12:1-2 - Thanksgiving always begins with a view of God's mercy, it is always marked by worship, and it always leads to transformation.

Galatians 4:21-31 - There are two types of people in the world, those who present their own goodness to God as the basis of their acceptance, and those who lean only on the righteousness of Christ. It is these second people, who have no goodness of their own to count on, who are blessed. [note: due to technical difficulties, the last bit of the sermon is unavailable for listening.]

Galatians 4:8-20 - These important verses expose the religious idolatries of the Galatians, who were trusting in their obedience, rather than in Jesus. Pastor Jeff exposes several other "religious idols" that are prevalent in the church today, and gives us the remedy from Galatians 4:9.

Galatians 3:23-4:7 - This is perhaps one of the most important passages in fighting the nefarious lie of legalism. Paul presents to weapons with which to fight. The first is the righteousness of Christ, and the second is the gift of the Holy Spirit. These two realities form the "bookends of the Christian life."

Galatians 3:15-22 - Paul's passion for the glory of Christ spills over in his argument for the purity of the gospel in the churches. The gospel of Christ was being preached before the law was given, and the purpose of the law was to lead us back to Christ. The whole bible is a story about Christ!

Galatians 3:6-14 - Paul explicitly tells us that the Old Testament preached the gospel! There is only one way that people have ever been saved, and it is by grace through faith. Abraham illustrates this truth, and leads us to think about how the law drives us to Christ to find mercy and grace.

Galatians 3:1-9 - Not only is the gospel the mechanism of our salvation, Paul tells the Galatians that it is also the mechanism of their growth in Christ. The life that God blesses is not the one that works the hardest, but the one that clings to the grace of God in the gospel.
