To be far from The Lord is to harden our hearts, but to spend time in communion and prayer with Him is to soften our hearts, and prepare ourselves for His will done on Earth as in Heaven!

Pastor Paul brings us a good word about praying in tongues and allowing Holy Spirit to guide our prayers. We don't need to know everything we want to say or ask for when we commune with God, rather we should let go of our control and let our hearts align with His!

This week Paul spoke to us about how vital intimacy was in our relationships with one another, but most importantly The Lord! Prayer is speaking with God Himself, and to speak with Him on such a regular basis is how we can build intimacy with Him and align our hearts with His. We cannot steward the revival God is bringing to Albuquerque if we are lacking in this intimacy with each other and The Lord.

Pastor Greg Humbles shared the word with us this week while Paul was out of town! He read over Psalm 40 and showed us how David prayed with persistence, expecting God to answer, and ready to repent.

Even the disciples had a hard time staying awake and praying with their Lord. Why is it so hard to maintain this discipline? Paul shares that the spiritual warfare involved and intertwined with prayer means that the enemy will try to prevent us from spending this important time communing with God.

Our most common time to pray is in the face of hardship, but to have a real relationship with The Lord, just as with all relationship, we must be communicating in every season of life. His presence is so good, why would our communion with God not be tied directly to joy as well?

We've been talking about persistent prayer throughout this portion of the series, and this week Paul reminds us that the power of this continual knocking pertains to even the long, hard seasons of life.

Our Youth Pastor Ethan Grant delivered the message this weekend! He shares his experience of laying down his human ideas to allow God's plan to take over! Prayer begins with humility, and it's from this place that our prayers become most aligned with God's will and therefore most powerful.
