New Mum, Who Dis? episodes

  • 'New Mum, Who Dis?' with Jessie Ware
With a lazy 27 million podcast downloads under her belt, 4 albums, a huge tour on the way and a brand new book out...it's hard to believe that Jessie also just gave birth to her third child. It's also hard to believe she could find thirty minutes to squeeze me in! But such is her way. Always down for a chat and a laugh, and ever generous with her warmth and wit, I was once again inspired to live my best life (and mum life) by this incredible woman. Enjoy!

  • Alex Dyson on imagining a better world (and not being an a-hole)
One of my favourite broadcasters and humans joins me this week to discuss LOTS of things...from ill fated trips to Bali, to awkward celebrity interviews, and his political aspirations. If there was an Alex Dyson fan club, I would join it. But there isn't. So instead...I've got him on the podcast. Enjoy!

  • BONUS EP : "Hey google, why do I feel so sad when I breastfeed?"
It's referred to as 'breastfeeding's best kept secret'. A condition I didn't know existed until I found myself hit with a sense of crippling dread every time I breastfed my child. One frantic google search and a trip to my OB led me to a diagnosis for a condition that is as common as it is unknown. In this episode I discuss my own experience with 'dysphoric milk ejection reflex' and speak to Alia Macrina Heise who has led the way in researching and educating women on the topic for nearly 20 years.

Uncensored, unashamed and an absolute firecracker...hear Brooke's hilarious and honest take on motherhood, identity and life on the road. As for the tampon reference...just listen and hear for yourself.

  • Alex Moir - When you call 000 and there's no help available

In Australia in 2022 we all hold close to the idea that if we need urgent assistance, it is readily available after an emergency phone call. But when Alex's wife Mel experienced a very quick surprise home birth and their baby boy born was unresponsive, a call to triple 0 produced no such help. At the height of Sydney's COVID pandemic - there were no ambulances available.

Alex shared their story soon after with an instagram post that went viral, and proved that our health system was not just bending - it was breaking.

In this episode he tells this unbelievable story in great detail, shining a light on our incredible health workers in the process.

  • Season Finale. A reflection on new motherhood with my bestie.

For the final episode of the season I wanted to reflect on the most transformative time of my life - my first few months as a mama.  We all dream of being pregnant at the same time as our bestie, and for myself and Violet this became true when three months after she welcomed her son Finn, I welcomed Buddy.

While our journeys were as different as we are, many of our struggles and learnings have been the same. Join us as we reflect on the highs and lows of becoming mamas (during a pandemic!!!) in 2021.

TW:  This episode discusses pregnancy loss.  If you'd prefer to opt-out of that bit, you can start listening from the 7 minute mark :)

  • Christian Hull on finding his own path to success (with a few F ups along the way)

These days millions of people subscribe to his content across TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube…but life didn't always look like this for this week's guest Christian Hull. In this chat, I hear how he took the leap from digital producer making content for other people's radio shows…to solidifying himself as ‘talent' and forging a career off his own name and creativity. Lots of heart, lots of LOLs and lots of life lessons await in this week's episode. Love you Christian x
