A list that you control. You can send an email at any time. If you can only access your audience through Facebook, for example, FB controls the list, not you. If FB shut down tomorrow, you would lose that audience if you do not have them on your own listHere are the pieces of this system:
Lead magnet. This should be tightly related to the affiliate offer, so that anyone who wants your lead magnet will naturally want to buy the affiliate offer. Naturally, your lead magnet will include links to your affiliate offer.
For example, if you’re selling an in-depth course on learning to play drums, then you might create a lead magnet with “Top 5 Snare Drum Exercises”
Ebook or report
Video
Audio
Gear list or resource list
Access to a private group
An app or other tool
And moreOpt-in page (may also be called a landing page or lead page). This is a short sales letter – sometimes it’s just a headline, a handful of bullet points and a call to action – which tell viewers the benefits of your lead magnet and why they should join your list now.
Autoresponder series. This is a series of around five to seven emails that are related to the main offer and help you build a relationship with your subscribers. Each email is mixture of content and pitch.
In keeping with the example of selling a drum course, your email series might be something like: “The Five Drumming Secrets of Famous Drummers”. Each email would include one of the secrets plus a pitch for the paid course. Be sure to promote your bonus offer when you promote your affiliate link.
