Australia appears to be in the midst of a national park boom.

In Victoria, three new parks have been announced in the past week. And in NSW, the boundaries for the Great Koala National Park have been revealed.

While in the state's far north-west, a vast outback property turned national park will begin welcoming tourists next year.
