    Dealing with immigration and ICE ("la migra") can feel scary and confusing, but being prepared can make a big difference. In this episode of New Paths, the hosts, senior immigration attorney Hadley Bajramovic and senior immigration paralegal Zayra IVette Padilla, share their years of experience as immigration attorneys to help families understand their rights and make a plan. If someone you care about is undocumented, knowing what to do ahead of time can help protect them and keep your family safe.

    The episode focuses on how ICE (immigration has changed its tactics, like waiting for people outside their homes instead of knocking on doors. The most important thing to do if someone is detained is to say they are afraid to return to their home country. This can stop a quick deportation and give them a chance to see a judge. Families are also encouraged to work with an experienced immigration lawyer and have important information—like A-numbers and immigration history—ready in case of an emergency.
    The hosts also explain why acting fast is so important, especially for people from Mexico, who can be deported quickly due to living close to the border. They encourage families to call their ICE emergency hotline (**888-735-8731**) right away if someone is detained. The hotline is only for emergencies, but families can also call their office for general questions at **951-588-9838**.

    Final Action Date Trends: Minimal movement is observed across employment-based preference categories. For most countries, dates remain unchanged. India sees slight advancements:

    EB3 advances from November 1, 2012, to November 8, 2012.
