New Seeds

The story goes that Mike enthusiastically approached amc after he heard him playing Nautic and "Freedom Of The Floor" at a summer party, asking him if he had anything else that sounded like that. Mike was in luck because amc has a stack of records in that style because he’s a fan of down to mid-tempo female vocalists with catchy melodies.

So it came to be that this one-off mix was created taking in artists from Norway, France, Canada, Japan, Austria, The Netherlands, the UK and US. Starting with the fabulous Aldous Harding it drifts from the present to the (future) past, rising to the incredible cover of Pet Shop Boys "Love Comes Quickly" by Hidemi Ishikawa before the cosy ending from Diane Tell and Vanity.

As Adam Kesher said in Mullholland Drive “this is the girl”.

We park the fresh new electronic and electronically inspired and influenced music for a boog-a-loo boogie: two hours of massive electronic dance music bangers complete with questionable mixing.

To win some records tell me the artist/s and title from the track played in the mix from 2019. To enter, go to www.amcsounds.com hit "Connect" and follow the steps. Closing date is 1 January 2020. Good luck!

This is the live recording of the special third year anniversary edition of New Seeds, the show dedicated to electronic and electronically inspired music.

To celebrate, the show is a dedication to my all-time favourite group Saint Etienne. Masters of melancholy, pop-perfectionists and the most wonderful people you'll meet.

The tracks you'll hear are my favourites including their own remixes and remixed original tracks all of which have a story to tell. Interwoven are interviews, adlibs and some of the best source samples.

The music starts at 01:05 and doesn't stop till the end.

Huge thanks and love to David - none of this would have happened were it not for this trio.
