Sleepwalking can be a dangerous thing. But what about when we sleepwalk through life? Jesus invites us to wake up from our slumber and to live with a deeper awareness and purpose, becoming alive to the work that God wants to do in and through our lives. This is the reminder we find today in the lives of Peter, John and a nameless “invalid." What if all of us can awaken to the possibility that there's more to life than we might ever expect?

Too often the message of religion is – “You are bad. Now knock it off.” But what if the message of Jesus is totally different from this? What if Jesus still looks at us and says, “You are very good. Now let’s be who you were made to be”? But how can we hear this message in the midst of the hurry, worry and busy of our daily lives? That’s where the Holy Spirit comes in. What if the Holy Spirit really is the only one who can help us become who we already are?
