New To Weeaboo

Episode 123 is here! We watched WataMote. It's a cringe comedy. Which, as the genre suggests, can be difficult to watch. It has its moments, but sometimes Tomoko's behavior is incredibly frustrating. Check it out on Hidive.

Welcome to episode 122! We finally watched a Studio Ghibli movie. And we decided on the 2001 classic, Spirited Away! And to be honest, the single biggest reason to watch this is for the visual spectacle. Not like the rest is bad, but that's what you're here for. Check it out on Max!

Time for episode 121! Spring is here. Which means more new anime! And we got all romance this time (well, one of them the romance is significant, but not necessarily the main focus). And they vary a lot in quality. Check them all out:

Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again

A Condition Called Love

Mission: Yozakura Family

Whisper Me A Love Song

Episode 120 is here! After a short break, we watched Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. And if you haven't seen it yet, watch it. Because we spoil a lot about it, and what makes it so special to watch. Check it out on Crunchyroll.

Welcome to episode 119! We watched one of the classics, Ghost in the Shell! The original movie from 1995, to clarify. And here, nearly 30 years later, it's still fantastic. And thought-provoking. Check it out on Amazon Prime or Tubi (English dub only).

Time for episode 118! Nemesis finally got a Transformers anime on this podcast. Specifically, Car Robots! And it's a very goofy show. And the nice thing about it is that it doesn't require watching other shows beforehand. Or after. Of course, if you do want to watch it, well... it's not available for streaming in the US (neither is its dub Robots in Disguise).

Episode 117 is here! We talked about fairly recent movie, Suzume! And while it's made by the same people as Your Name, it doesn't really hit the same highs. Which is unfortunate, because it still manages to have a lot of good points. Check it out on Crunchyroll!

Welcome to episode 116! The first anime season of 2024 has started and we got a handful to take a look at. And, well, the selection wasn't great, to say the least. Three different fantasy anime, ranging from bad to... complicated. At least the fourth is something different. Check them out (or don't):

Ishura

The Strongest Tank's Labyrinth Raids

Tales of Wedding Rings

Metallic Rouge

Time for episode 115! We watched a fun anime from last season, I'm in Love with the Villainess! And yes, it's incredibly gay. Overtly so! And it's also not afraid to get real about it. Check it out on Crunchyroll.

Episode 114 is here! And so is the new year! To kick off 2024, we watched Toradora! It's a rom-com, and it's a fun time with quite the cast of characters. Even if it does get a little melodramatic towards the end. Check it out on Crunchyroll.
