The high cost of transportation for smallholder farmers has repeatedly been identified as one of the key hindrances to farmers who incur huge costs to transport produce to markets.
But with innovation right in our faces, a team of three young brains is building sturdy electric bicycles to make last mile transportation in Uganda. The bicycles are faster, cheaper and cleaner and for just shs. 500 it can be charged to capacity using electricity or solar and then covers 100km.
