Many of us are addicted to control. Don't believe me? Take a moment to reflect and recognize how and why you are frustrated; many times, you may find, it is due to your desire to control something that cannot be controlled. 

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - This is your true and proper worship." - Romans 12:1

"Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." - Psalm 27:14

How do you react when you feel that God is not answering your prayers? Or, maybe when you feel He has delayed the answer you seek? Sure, none of us like to wait, we are impatient, but He is perfect in His timing. 

"Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent." - Psalm 4:4

God's children need silence to hear Him, to cultivate a relationship with Him, and ultimately to hear the instructions being given for healing. We are so accustomed to adding noise to our lives that we do not give ourselves the chance to heal.

According to the account in Luke 17, ten lepers met Jesus on the road to Jerusalem, ten lepers found healing from the Savior, yet only one leper returned to thank Christ for His healing. We must be diligent to be thankful in the healing that God blesses us with. 

"One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice." - Luke 17:15

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." - Isaiah 40:29

Healing is a process and doesn't happen overnight. You may take two steps forward, but we must be sure not to give in or give up when we find ourselves taking a step back.

Satan knows our weaknesses and exploits them to try and bring us down. He tries to hold our past over our heads, but praise God we are forgiven!

"Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope." - Romans 15:4

Sunday Sermon based in Genesis 12-13. Pastor Phillip looks into the early call of Abram (later, Abraham) and how it can inspire us as we strive to live for God. We have to realize that sometimes we make mistakes, but God doesn't leave us there. And, at times, even in the center of God's will we will find this world a troublesome place. 

"I will never leave you, nor forsake you." - God (Deuteronomy 31:6)

"Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard." - Isaiah 58:8

It's easy to focus on our selves when we are going through tough days, but it is in our service to others that we serve God and many times fine healing.

"Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him." - Job 13:15

The hopeless, difficult moments in our lives can be the breakthrough we have been looking for. The secret? Look for God in the difficult days as much as the good ones!

God is a sustaining God and He will sustain you! No matter the circumstance.

"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." - Isaiah 46:4
