We make hundreds of choices daily...are you choosing wisely?

"I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances." - Philippians 4:11

Are you bitter over something that just didn't go your way? Maybe a tragedy has struck and you are struggling to not blame God or someone else for the troubles you are now facing. Listen closely...

People will treat you rudely. Face it: People treat people badly. This, however, doesn't mean that we should return the favor. 

"Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared." - Proverbs 22:24-25

"Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life." - Proverbs 22:4

Even if you have heard it over and over, or possibly have even said it about yourself, no one is a self-made man or woman. You are not responsible for the success in your life. In fact, you likely owe a debt of gratitude to any number of people, and most importantly, to God.

God made you and gave you talents and abilities that are unique to you, don't you think it is high time to give those back to Him in how you live?

"So we make it our goal to please Him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it." - 2 Corinthians 5:9

"As you travel through life brother, whatever be your goal; Keep your eye upon the donut, and not upon the hole." - seen on the wall of a donut shop. 

Sometimes we can find wisdom in the oddest of places. Proverbs 8:10-11 tell us, "Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more than precious rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her." Sometimes what we learn in life is greater than what we own.

Every day is a new day, a gift from God. Are you taking time to be quiet with Him? Warren Wiersbe reminds us, "Surrender your mind to the Lord at the beginning of each day." 

Life is full of inevitable setbacks and disappointments...the price we pay in our risk we take...but also the price we pay for not taking the risks God wants us to take.

We are reminded that there is "a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance." - Ecclesiastes 3:4

Paul offered a clear message to Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid." We are to share Christ with others...boldly, unashamedly, and courageously.

"For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel - not with wisdom and eloquence, lets the cross of Christ be emptied of its power." - 1 Corinthians 1:17
