Sunday Sermon for August 23, 2020 as we continue our in-depth look into Psalm 139. Pastor Phillip looks into David's revelation that God loves His children deeply. The Psalmist shows us the way that God is madly, deeply, and completely in love with His greatest creation. He knows everything about us and still loves us...He knows all we have done, are doing, and will ever do, and still loves us completely.  The best part of our relationship with God is that there is nothing we can do that He doesn't already know, and He can never love us less than He does.

We all encounter disappointments and let downs in this life, but God protects His children. In Isaiah 43:2-3 we are reminded, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, you Savior."

The times are tough and turbulent. Difficult days are unavoidable. Jesus reminds us in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

God's grace is not, and cannot be, earned. That we should be thankful for! John 3:16, we all know it and it is a great reminder, "God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Quiet times each day with the Lord are important, are you making time for Him? Isaiah 50:4-5 says, "He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed. The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears."

What is your attitude today? It is definitely worth thinking about. Proverbs 15:15 states, "All of the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast."

We, as Christians, are truly blessed. But do we allow the stresses of everyday living to bring us down? 1 Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us, "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Sunday Sermon for August 16, 2020 based again in Psalm 139. This Psalm has so much for us to glean and many great lessons of life for us to hear. How important is life? And, when exactly does it start? The Psalmist dives into that, as does many other of the Scriptures. Join us as we dive into this today. 

Courage and Character work hand in hand. Courage builds character and character builds courage. 1 Chronicles 28:20 tells us to "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you."

If we want to achieve anything in life, we must work hard for it. It is how we are designed. In Romans 12:11, Paul reminds us, "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord."
