Addison Rae is addressing backlash she received after failing to credit the mostly Black creators of the TikTok dances she performed last week on The Tonight Show .

When asked about the incident, Rae (whose real name is Addison Easterling) told TMZ that leaving the creator’s names out of the sketch was unintentional, saying the original choreographers “definitely deserves all the credit.”

“I think they were all credited in the original YouTube posting , but it’s kinda hard to credit during the show,” she said. “But they all know that I love them so much and I mean, I support all of them so much. And hopefully one day we can all meet up and dance together.”

She also said she and the show’s team were discussing the incident “behind the scenes” and added, “But it was so much fun. I had so much fun, and I’m very grateful and thankful. It was a great time.”

During the broadcast, Rae performed eight dances that have gone viral on TikTok (including “Blinding Lights,” “Up,” “Savage Love” and “Laffy Taffy”), while host Jimmy Fallon held up cards bearing the titles of the trends.

“Ever since the beginning, I’ve been talking to most of them and definitely want to collab with a lot of them,” she told TMZ.

The original song featured on the singer’s 2014 album ‘1989’, and is one of a large number of tracks that Swift is re-recording from her back catalogue following the controversial sales of her masters in recent years .

The first snippet of ‘Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)’ was released earlier this month in a minute-long trailer for the forthcoming DreamWorks film Spirit Untamed .

A longer trailer for the upcoming animated movie has now been released, featuring an extended preview of the new version of Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’ – you can watch the clip and hear the snippet below.

Swift has properly released two re-recorded songs from her back catalogue so far. In February she shared a new version of her 2008 single ‘Love Story’ , while ‘You All Over Me (From The Vault)’ arrived last week.

The two tracks will both feature on ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ , a re-recorded version of the singer’s 2008 album ‘Fearless’. The record is set to be released on April 9 – you can read about what to expect from the album here .

She isn’t just a folklore everyone talks about; a legend we can all dream about in our wildest dreams; or a girl wearing a cardigan writing a love story with teardrops on her guitar. Having been in the music industry since the age of 13, Taylor Swift has had the opportunity to grow as a singer-songwriter, but most importantly, as a female in a male-dominated industry. However, her career has not always been all glitter and kittens. She has had to undergo treacherous obstacles that have made her who she is today.

Time and time again, Taylor has been degraded by men in this industry. From an interviewer wrongly placing his hands on her for a picture to Kanye West disrespecting her at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. More recently, Taylor has lost her entire catalog of songs not once but twice without her consent.

As she still has the publishing rights to the songs themselves, she promised her fans re-recordings of all six albums. Proving herself, she released Love Story (Taylor’s Version) this year, bringing back youthful memories through her carefully reinvented masterpiece that reached number one, once again.

“So when you gonna tell her that we did that too?” she asks the guy as layered synth lines twinkle around her, “She thinks it’s special, but it’s all reused.”

The same could be said of the clever songwriting and production tricks Rodrigo repeats in “Deja Vu” — the way she makes a musical phrase of someone’s laughter (as she did with the chime of a car alarm in “Drivers License”), for instance, or her deployment of an unexpected swear word in the song’s bridge (à la the crucial F-bomb she dropped last time).

And anyway, “Deja Vu” — the second single, Rodrigo announced Thursday morning, from her debut album due May 21 — has plenty of its own beautifully rendered detail.

Co-written and produced by Dan Nigro, who also did “Drivers License,” the new single paints a vivid scene right from the get-go: “Car ride to Malibu / Strawberry ice cream, one spoon for two,” Rodrigo sings wistfully, “And trading jackets / Laughing ’bout how small it looks on you.”

She goes on to rhyme “Watching reruns of ‘Glee’” with “Being annoying, singing in harmony” — real theater-kid dream-weaving here — before making clear that these treasured memories are just part of a well-established pattern for her ex.

Hailey was talking to Dr. Jessica Clemons — a world-renowned psychiatrist — about mental health and social media when she dished on how she navigates Instagram, Twitter and other apps these days … while also processing vile comments from complete strangers.

For starters, Mrs. Bieber explained how she’s actually come to limit her Instagram use … swearing it off Monday through Friday and only hopping in on weekends. That’s apparently helped drown out a lot of noise … and so has completely nixing Twitter from her rotation.

I don’t go on it during the week, so I only check it for the first time at the end of the week and that has helped me so much. I’m really happy about that.

Every individual that has done the takeover is so amazing. I love getting to know them and their stories and what they stand for. They’ve really inspired me in so many different ways. We’ve been reaching out to different people in various spaces and seeing if they are interested. Justin Bieber is giving fans a sweet treat. The pop singer dropped his sixth studio album, Justice , on Thursday evening, and released a new music video for his single “Peaches.”

The stylish video — which combines retro ’90s vibes with super-modern color palettes — features Giveon and Daniel Caesar alongside Bieber rocking an incredibly chic peach-colored suit.

“There’s nothing like your touch / It’s the way you lift me up / And I’ll be right here with you ’til the end,” Bieber croons in the laidback ballad.

As for his long-awaited album, Justice , the new album contains Bieber’s megahit singles “Holy,” featuring Chance the Rapper, and “Lonely” with Benny Blanco.

Justice — which also includes Bieber’s singles “Anyone” and “Hold On” — features a number of other big collaborations with artists including The Kid LAROI, Dominic Fike, Khalid, Beam, and Burna Boy.

Back in February, Bieber took to Instagram to share his upcoming album’s cover art and reflected on the album title.

He added that he knows that he “cannot simply solve injustice by making music but I do know that if we all do our part by using our gifts to serve this planet and each other that we are that much closer to being united.”

The new album release comes shortly after his wife opened up to Elle about their relationship . The 24-year-old model covers the publication’s April 2021 issue and reflected on the two marrying young and the issues they’ve had to work through.

Hailey married Justin in September 2018 in a private courthouse ceremony in New York City. She acknowledged that while they chose to tie the knot very young, it was the right decision for them given how they both grew up.

On Saturday, the pop star, 27, put on a show-stopping performance of his hit song “Intentions” after being presented by his wife Hailey Baldwin .

For his performance of “Intentions,” Bieber was joined by Migos rapper Quavo and the pop star later performed a medley of his latest singles “Hold On” and “Anyone.”

During the show, Bieber won awards in the favorite male artist and favorite music collaboration categories, the latter of which was for “Stuck with U,” his duet with Ariana Grande benefitting COVID relief efforts.

SEOUL, South Korea — K-pop superstar group BTS has condemned racism against Asians, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in a statement saying they’ve experienced it themselves.

“We stand against racial discrimination,” BTS tweeted Tuesday in English and Korean. The band said their own painful encounters with racism included “expletives” and being “mocked for the way” they look.

The band said that although the discrimination they endured is “inconsequential” compared to “events that have occurred over the past few weeks,” they felt the need to speak out. “What’s happening right now cannot be disassociated from our identity as Asians,” the band said.

Many Asian Americans believe the Atlanta shootings were racially motivated. Police say they are still trying to determine a motive.

BTS is one of the first South Korean bands to openly condemn anti-Asian racism. K-pop bands are known to be careful about maintaining personas created by their labels, which often muzzle stars on touchy subjects like race and mental health.

BTS’s ‘My Time’ Celebrates A Full Year On The World Songs Chart

It’s beginning to feel like every few weeks BTS see one of their biggest hits reach a special milestone on the World Digital Song Sales chart, the Billboard ranking they know best. This turn is no different, as one of their most popular recent releases celebrates hitting a mark that would be a career-defining moment for any other act, but which is nearly commonplace for the South Korean septet at this point.

BTS’s track “My Time” hits 52 weeks on the World Digital Song Sales chart, or exactly a full year. This is, incredibly, not even the first of the band’s singles to reach that mark in 2021.

It looks like NBC is saying — in the nicest possible way — “Thank U, Next” to coach Nick Jonas.

Ariana Grande has been named the next coach for Season 21 of “The Voice.”

NBC announced the news on Tuesday, noting that Grande will have a seat next to returning coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton. Carson Daly is also set to continue hosting the music competition series.

The 27-year-old Grammy winner said in a statement Tuesday that she’s “so honored and excited” to join the “Voice” family.

“I have been a huge fan of the show for such a long time. I can’t wait to go head-to-head with the incredible coaches, get to know these new artists and help to take their craft to the next level,” the “Positions” singer said.

The network is just as elated to welcome Grande a seat.

“As an undeniable force in pop music, Ariana’s inimitable success in the music industry is extraordinary,” said Jenny Groom, executive vice president of unscripted content for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “We were thrilled to learn that she is a true fan of ‘The Voice’ and know that this enthusiasm will add to her impact as a dynamic coach. Ariana is a visionary with over a decade of experience in the music industry. Her unmatched vocal skills, creativity and unique expertise on all facets of the industry will make her an invaluable coach to the next generation of artists.”

Legend also gave Grande a big welcome, writing on Twitter, “So excited to welcome Ariana to our Voice family!!”

Although the announcement did not touch on Jonas’ exit, his name was not included on the roster for the upcoming season.

Season 20 marks the 10-year anniversary of the competition show. The current season’s battle rounds will continue to air next Monday, April 5.

Those who were excited about Ariana Grande’s first big red carpet fashion moment of 2021 will have to wait a little longer. The singer opted not to attend the 2021 Grammys in Los Angeles despite winning her category.

Grande was only up for one award: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Lady Gaga for “Rain on Me.” She and Lady Gaga were announced as the winners of that category (beating out BTS in an upset) ahead of the ceremony.

Grande tweeted to Lady Gaga to celebrate their victory: “eternally, deeply grateful for u, for this experience, to have been a part of this song and this celebration of healing and recovery, to be able to dance in the rain with u, to call u my dear friend & to now share this. beyond thankful. congratulations queen, ti voglio bene !”

Grande was not slated to perform at the ceremony this year, and her album positions , which came out in October 2020, wasn’t eligible to be nominated. The Grammys nomination period ran from September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2020. Positions will be eligible for awards at the 2022 ceremony.

UPDATE : Grande posted the tracklist for her forthcoming album, which is indeed called “Positions,” over the weekend. The only major change from the original post below is that her duet with The Weeknd is now called “Off the Table.”

Future Nostalgia could not have come out at a worse time. Lipa may have imagined her 11 new songs blasting through Ibiza and Miami during the summer, but the vast majority of the world’s clubs remained closed throughout the year, their dance floors collecting dust.

Yet Future Nostalgia underwent a metamorphosis in quarantine. Instead of pulsating through parties and clubs, the album’s songs played through phone speakers while we were on TikTok at 4 p.m. in our pajamas. This unforeseen change of situation elevated Future Nostalgia to something more than just a playlist of fun club songs — it cemented the album as a masterpiece of music that both defined and got us through quarantine.

Indeed, scientific evidence can explain this phenomenon. Studies published in the past decade have shown that nostalgia decreases feelings of loneliness and can serve as a reservoir of mental wellbeing and emotional stability. When people become nostalgic, they are revisiting positive memories that are personally meaningful to them. In doing so, they become inspired to do things that will let them reach the same level of joy they felt in the past. In other words, nostalgia causes people to become happier and more motivated to pursue future goals.

Even though most of us weren’t born in the 1980s, we are well aware of the decade’s aesthetic and vibe. The constant reference to, and romanticization of, the disco era in contemporary pop culture — through movies, TV shows, songs or otherwise — makes us all feel like we have a personal connection with ’80s glitter and glamour. In a way, we do: What college-aged person hasn’t had their parents blast ABBA or upbeat Whitney Houston songs throughout the house when they were young? As such, Future Nostalgia provides us with a blast-to-the-past nostalgic experience that brings us back to happier non-pandemic times, with tangible emotional benefits both for the present and the future.

These songs, through their serotonin-inducing instrumentals, allowed us to retain a semblance of optimism for the future — optimism that we can soon be back to dancing blurry-visioned and shoulder-to-shoulder with five other strangers. I can’t be the only one to have closed my eyes and pretended I was at a party when dancing to “Don’t Start Now” alone or with a couple friends at home. It’s easy to get pandemic fatigue and resign yourself to the opinion that the current state of things will never change. Future Nostalgia comes up, slaps you across the face and tells you to shut up while screaming, “You WILL eventually get the opportunity to embarrass yourself at a function again.”

True to its name, Future Nostalgia draws upon the past and future in an attempt to excite and electrify listeners. This goal is successfully achieved with its unskippable 11-song tracklist, but the album gains so much more meaning considering the state of the world into which it was released. So, even though we’re currently only able to dance to Future Nostalgia in a t-shirt and some sweatpants, don’t be too sad when glancing at the party outfits in your closet. Keep listening to the album and stay nostalgic for a future that is soon to come.

It’s been 13 years since Taylor Swift earned her first-ever GRAMMY nomination , for Best New Artist.

Although she didn’t take home that trophy in 2008 (the accolade went to Amy Winehouse), the singer has racked up a number of impressive GRAMMY wins over the years, including two for Album of the Year — Fearless  and 1989  — and Best Music Video for “Bad Blood.” Now, at age 31, Swift is up for six more GRAMMYs , including Album of the Year for Folklore  (which she wrote and released last year amid the coronavirus pandemic) and Song of the Year for “Cardigan,” at the upcoming ceremony on Sunday.

Ahead of show day, ET spoke with Swift about what it’s like to be re-recording her songs on the 13th anniversary of her first nomination. She also reflected on her career, sharing the advice she’d give her younger self, knowing what she knows now.

“It’s pretty wild how much time has passed since my first GRAMMY nomination. I still feel pretty lucky to still be a part of this night,” Swift told ET’s Keltie Knight, during a break from rehearsals this week. “I think the advice I would give myself when I was younger is probably to, when things get hard, always focus in on how much I love music.”

“That has been the thing that, no matter what, has protected me from any of the other outside things that have made me feel strange,” she continued. “I’ve never had a problem with the general fact of making music or playing music. I’ve never stopped loving it. It’s been the outside stuff that has made me feel down at times.”

Swift said there are two things in particular that have helped protect her over the course of her career: 1.) enthusiasm and 2.) how much she loves music.

“As soon as you fail, enthusiasm tells you that the next great idea is around the corner,” she explained. “And your love of music will always center you, if you’re doing this for that, and that alone, because that is hard to take away.”

“People can reduce and criticize other elements,” she added. “It sounds really, really simple, but loving the actual making of music and the playing of music is what I think has really helped me balance things.”

In addition to her GRAMMY nominations, Swift will also be taking the stage Sunday night to perform a few of her hits .
