The Minority in Parliament has condemned the attempts by the Supreme Court registrar to serve criminal process on the Assin North MP, James Gyekye Quayson whiles in Parliament.

Maxam Company Limited says it did not breach the Minerals and Mining Regulations, 2012 (L.I. 2177) as indicated by a three-member committee set up by the Lands Ministry to investigate the cause of the Appiatse explosion. This follows failed attempts to have the Assin North MP-elect served with the court notice through parliament.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has donated an amount of one hundred thousand cedis (GHc 100,000) to the Apiate explosion support fund set up by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to assist the affected persons in the community. President Akufo-Addo made the donation to the fund after interacting with the five-member committee constituted by the Land and Natural Resources Minister to steer the affairs of the Fund when they paid a courtesy call on him at the Jubilee House.
