After watching Jordan Oaks, Nashville Singer/songwriter and Rocky Hill
native, perform on the Fox and Friends Plaza in New York City a while
back, they knew they had to have him perform for their special event! On
this Sunday’s edition of News You Can Use on WTIC NewsTalk 1080 at
5:30a and 9:00a, host Ann Baldwin and co-host Tracy Knight invite JT
Mariotte, a Chairperson for the “Be The One” charity, a cause meant to
bring funding and awareness to prevent suicide throughout our first
reponders and verterans. JT talks about how they turned Oak Island into,
“Jordan Oaks Island '' and raised more than 40 thousand dollars at their
recent “Be The One” event.
In 2017, more firefighters and police officers died as a result of suicide
opposed to in the line of duty. Be The One fundraisers continue to make a
difference in this statistic by training and pairing service animals to our
heroes with the money raised. In addition, JT believes that it is vitally
important to celebrate everything that first responders and military veterans
provide to our country.
