Matthew has glorious presented the King of Israel and recorded the presentation of the Kingdom and the reaction have been many. Some have left everything to follow Him, others traveled only so far, and still others - such as the Jewish leaders - opposed every step of the way. The point is that the presentation of the kingdom calls for a response, and a persons response is the decisive factor regarding participation or exclusion. Jesus now focuses even more exclusively on the matter of the Kingdom of God, and His chosen method to do so is through parables as we enter into the third major discourse of the Lord in Matthew.

Christ is the center of God's redeeming plan, the book of Hebrews, and the foundation of our communion with God. Christ is our final High Priest, the one who has entered into the veil for us, what used to separate has been torn asunder and the believer in Jesus can boldly come and fellowship with God in the and through the Son! This fellowship also comes with privileged responsibilities, that we come to Him in prayer, hold fast the promise, and commit ourselves to the fellowship and communion with the saints in Christ.
