Medical intuition – Detective for the Mind, Body and Soul Interview Pt 3 Ep 57

What if the body speaks in ways we’ve simply forgotten how to hear?

In this episode of Newvision Oldways, I explore the concept of Medical Intuition — not as a rejection of modern medicine, but as a complementary lens through which we can better understand ourselves. This conversation invites us to slow down, tune inward, and consider the possibility that intuition, awareness, and the mind–body connection play a far greater role in our well-being than we’ve been taught to believe.

I continue my discussion with Medical Intuition Researcher:  Tracy Poff to help guide us through this relatively unknown concept and help us understand better the ways of the Medical Intuit. She holds a PHD as a Transpersonal Psychology Researcher as well with a specialty in Medical Intuition Research. Tracy's Website - Tracy Poff, PhD

We unpack what medical intuition actually is (and what it is not), why so many people feel disconnected from their own bodies, and how modern life — stress, distraction, and constant noise — may be dulling our ability to recognize internal signals before they turn into louder problems.

Rather than blind belief or rigid skepticism, this episode lives in the middle ground: curiosity with discernment. We examine how intuition shows up differently for each person, how emotional patterns can manifest physically, and why reclaiming agency over our own awareness may be one of the most empowering health practices available to us.

This is an episode about learning to listen again — to patterns, signals, instincts, and subtle cues — while staying rooted in responsibility, self-reflection, and balance.

Medical intuition isn’t about having special powers — it’s about paying attention.
When we ignore the quiet signals, the body often finds louder ways to speak.

    Reflection for Listeners

    • When was the last time you noticed your body trying to tell you something?
    • Do you listen to discomfort as information — or only as an inconvenience?
    • What might change if intuition became a skill you practiced, not a concept you dismissed?

    Why This Conversation Matters

In a world obsessed with external validation, metrics, and instant answers, reclaiming internal awareness is revolutionary. This episode challenges us to stop outsourcing our wisdom entirely — and instead rebuild a relationship with the most constant companion we have: ourselves.

Episode 54 – The Dark Mirror: How Post-Modern Nihilism Is Destroying a Generation — And How We Reclaim Meaning

In this powerful and urgent episode of Newvision Oldways, I pull back the curtain on one of the most dangerous and misunderstood worldviews shaping our culture today: Post-Modern Nihilism.

We’re living in a time where cynicism is celebrated, truth is treated as flexible, violence is sometimes entertainment, and many—especially the younger generation—are being taught, directly or indirectly, that life has no inherent meaning or value. In this episode, I confront that dark mirror head-on.

    I explore:

    • What Nihilism really is—and where it came from
    • How Post-Modern thinking transformed healthy questioning into dangerous meaninglessness
    • Why self-hatred, despair, rage, and moral confusion are now being normalized
    • How the loss of purpose erodes empathy and fuels violence
    • Why identity collapses when meaning disappears
    • And how rediscovering truth, responsibility, and purpose is the antidote to the chaos we’re seeing unfold

This is not a political episode—it’s a human episode. It’s about the erosion of values, the collapse of moral anchors, and the terrifying consequences of teaching people that nothing truly matters. I address how manipulation thrives when identity is hollowed out, why tribalism replaces humanity, and how meaninglessness creates the perfect conditions for despair, cruelty, and collapse.

But this episode is not just a warning—it’s also a call to action.

This episode is about reclaiming the soul of a generation—not through anger, but through purpose. Not through destruction, but through meaning. Not through indoctrination, but through truth.

If you’ve ever wondered why so many people seem lost… why outrage feels constant… why empathy feels rare… and why meaning feels under attack—this conversation is for you.

    Life is not meaningless.
    You are not replaceable.
And purpose is not something you stumble upon—it’s something you build through your choices, your values, your discipline, and your courage.

Episode 53 — Growing Edges: Trusting My Inner Compass

In this episode, I dive into a powerful idea at the center of personal transformation — our growing edges. These are the areas of our lives where we feel friction, discomfort, misalignment, or repeated patterns that keep showing up. Instead of seeing these moments as obstacles, I explore how they are actually invitations to evolve and discover who we’re becoming.

I talk about how growth starts by recognizing these edges, then choosing to lean in with courage and self-awareness. When I listen to my inner compass — not cultural noise, not groupthink, not the expectations of others — I can see what life is trying to teach me. I share how shedding old identities, unlearning outdated beliefs, and showing up authentically help us move from surviving to thriving.

I also break down how happiness can’t be chased. It’s not a destination. It shows up naturally when we focus on meaning, contribution, presence, and living in alignment with our values. And with reflection, journaling, and small daily actions, our growing edges become the place where confidence, clarity, and fulfillment begin.

If you’re feeling stuck or on the edge of something new, this episode will help you understand the friction — and use it to create a life rooted in truth, resilience, and purpose.

    Quick Highlights

    • What growing edges are
    • How to identify them
    • How to lean into discomfort with purpose
    • Why authenticity matters
    • How to stop chasing happiness and build meaning instead
    • The hedonic treadmill explained
    • Using journaling + reflection to turn growth into thriving

Turn the Winter Blues Into Fuel: Small Daily Habits That Change Everything Ep 52

Welcome to Season 6 of Newvision Oldways — and what a way to kick it off.

In this powerful and deeply relatable episode, I dive into a reality so many of us face each year: the shift into winter, the darkening days, the emotional heaviness, and the dreaded holiday pressure cooker. But instead of accepting the winter slump as inevitable, I offer an inspired roadmap for transforming it into one of the most meaningful seasons of growth.

    This episode explores:

Why Winter Affects Us More Than We Realize

I break down the brain chemistry behind seasonal fatigue, mood drops, carb cravings, and the emotional turbulence that often arrives with shorter days. From melatonin to serotonin, we gain a clear understanding of why our bodies and minds respond the way they do — and how to work with, not against, these natural rhythms.

Old Wisdom for a Modern Winter

Drawing from Stoicism, the Tao Te Ching, Transcendentalism, and ancient seasonal traditions, I reframe winter NOW as a time of renewal, introspection, and inner sharpening.
Winter isn’t a dead zone — it’s a Kairos moment: the perfect time for courageous, intentional change.

Small Daily Habits That Change Everything

This episode is packed with life-altering, accessible strategies to bring light back into your days: I deliver all of this with humor, honesty, and lived experience — including the carb cravings, fatigue, and my own battles with seasonal depression.

A Heartfelt Message on Family & Division

In one of the episode’s most vulnerable and thought-provoking segments, I address the emotional distances many people have created with loved ones over politics and ideology.

    🧡 The Bigger Message

Winter doesn’t have to be a time of decline.
It can be a time of foundation, renewal, and becoming. This is not a season to fear. It’s a season to use.

Episode 51: The Mind-Body -Soul Connection – How Your Thoughts Shape Your Health

Welcome back, Visioneers. After celebrating our 50th milestone episode, we begin a new chapter — one that explores the powerful dialogue between the mind and the body, and how our thoughts shape our physical and emotional well-being.

In this deeply personal and reflective episode, I - Tony Marinaccio dive into one of life’s most profound truths: that what we think, feel, and believe doesn’t just live in our heads — it lives in our entire being. From the way stress tightens our muscles to the way peace softens our breath, our inner world is always speaking through the body.

I unpack how the mind and body constantly communicate — how emotion, thought, and biology are threads in the same tapestry. With stories from my own life and reflections from both modern science and ancient wisdom, this Episode reminds us that mental tension can manifest as physical pain, and awareness can become the first step toward healing.

This episode journeys through the practical and the spiritual — exploring ways we can restore balance through mindful awareness, simple breathing, and reconnecting with what truly matters. Whether through meditation, sound, movement, or stillness, healing often begins with letting go of control and returning to presence.

Challenge: See if you can pick out where the sound bath tones are playing!!??

The New Vision and the Old Ways

Our ancestors always knew that wellness was more than medicine — it was about harmony of mind, body, and spirit. Today’s science is finally catching up, showing how compassion, gratitude, and community heal us at every level. The new vision is built on those old ways — wisdom rediscovered for a modern world that has forgotten how to slow down and feel.

Episode 50: The Life Unlived — Regret or Endless Possibilities

    “Regret isn’t a tombstone. It’s a compass.”

Welcome to the 50th milestone episode of The Newvision Oldways Podcast! In this powerful celebration, I take us on a full-circle journey through fifty conversations that have challenged how we think, grow, and live. From courage and mindfulness to impermanence and rebirth — this episode brings it all home with one question that echoes through time:

Are you living the life you desire, or are you living a life full of regret?

    A Milestone of Meaning

Fifty episodes. 6 continents. 30 countries. 221 cities & Thousands of listeners.
What started as one man’s search for personal growth has become a worldwide movement of curiosity, courage, and transformation. I look back on the conversations that shaped the show — and forward to the endless possibilities that still await us all.

Most of us fear regret, burying it like a shameful relic. But I flip the script — showing how regret isn’t something to hide from, but something to learn from.
It’s not a signal of failure. It’s a whisper from your soul saying:

    “There’s still more to do.”

Through the lens of psychology and experience, I reveal how guilt and missed chances can become spiritual breadcrumbs — guiding us back to who we’re meant to be.

Change isn’t the enemy. It’s the rhythm of life.
In one of the episode’s most moving reflections, I explore radical impermanence — the idea that everything changes, ends, and begins again.
Drawing inspiration from Buddhist philosophy and The Tibetan Book of the Dead, he shows how embracing impermanence can set us free from fear, attachment, and the illusion of control.

“When we stop clinging to what we can’t keep, we stop suffering. When we stop fearing change, we start to live.”

Control, is just fear in disguise — the mind’s attempt to build walls around the unpredictable flow of life.
But life doesn’t ask for our control. It asks for our participation.
By releasing control, we remove the blinders that keep us from seeing possibility. Suddenly, the tunnel opens into a horizon — vast, alive, and unwritten.
This is the essence of Newvision Oldways: letting go of what was, to rediscover what can be.

Every person carries a version of the life they never lived — a dream buried beneath responsibility, fear, or distraction. This episode is your invitation to open that door again.
    You are not finished.
Your mind, your body, and your spirit are still capable of rewriting your story — today, right now, wherever you are.

At its core, Newvision Oldways has always meant this:
You can honor where you came from — your “old ways” — while embracing a new vision of who you’re still becoming.

Episode 49: Did We Really Ever Break on Through? – The Myth of the Psychedelic Dream

Welcome, Visioneers, to a mind-bending exploration through time, consciousness, and illusion. In this provocative episode, I invite you to journey to the center of your mind — to revisit the promises and pitfalls of the psychedelic age.

From Aldous Huxley’s mescaline revelations to Timothy Leary’s call to “Turn on, tune in, drop out,” I pull back the curtain on the cultural experiment that tried to chemically “open the doors of perception.” But did we really break on through — or did we just lose ourselves in the haze?

Featuring rare clips from My 1993 interview with Ray Manzarek of The Doors, and an insight into what the Dream was supposed to become by Jerry Garcia this episode connects the past and present — from LSD to psilocybin therapy, from counterculture dreams to the modern search for meaning.

This Episode reminds us that the truest journey isn’t about escaping reality but seeing it anew — with gratitude, mindfulness, and a reimagined vision of life’s everyday miracles.

    🧠 Key Themes:

    • The myth and meaning behind the psychedelic revolution
    • Aldous Huxley, “The Doors of Perception,” and the concept of the “Reducing Valve”
    • The rise and fall of 1960s idealism — from Woodstock to Altamont
    • The modern psychedelic renaissance in therapy and neuroscience
    • How to “break on through” naturally by rewiring your mind and embracing gratitude
“The real trip isn’t what you see under the influence — it’s how you live once your eyes are open.” – Tony Marinaccio

We don’t need chemicals to open the doors of perception — we just need courage, mindfulness, and gratitude. The sacred is already all around us… if we’re willing to truly look.

    Ray Manzarek Interview from 04/12/1993

Visioneers, Welcome to our first Episode Re-Release. This was Episode 13 Originally. I wanted to re-release this for a couple of main reasons. One is that there was a bit of confusion on my end as to when this Interview actually happened and to clarify, it was 04/12/1993. NOT 1992 that I mentioned during the Episode. So that's clarified !!

Second, I wanted to help the audio a bit, especially on Rays voice come across more clearly. It's not perfect by any means, but this was recorded through old phone lines, onto a cassette in a college radio station. The fact that this all still exists is nothing short of a miracle.

Take a time travel trip with me to 1993 and listen to Ray as he instills some Zen wisdom, talks about The Doors, the Doors Movie, Jim's Penis ( that was a surprise )  World Events, Eddie Vetter and so much more. A VERY Entertaining Interview that I am sure, besides here - you have never heard before.
