Ray Manzarek Interview from 04/12/1992

Visioneers, Welcome to our first Episode Re-Release. This was Episode 13 Originally. I wanted to re-release this for a couple of main reasons. One is that there was a bit of confusion on my end as to when this Interview actually happened and to clarify, it was 04/12/1992. NOT 1993 that I mentioned during the Episode. So that's clarified !!

Second, I wanted to help the audio a bit, especially on Rays voice come across more clearly. It's not perfect by any means, but this was recorded through old phone lines, onto a cassette in a college radio station. The fact that this all still exists is nothing short of a miracle.

If anything, I hope this discussion open the door to future dialogue where we can all engage in constructive and thoughtful conversation that can and will bring us together instead of tearing families, friends, co-workers apart.

We put the political differences aside and we engage in a thoughtful, sometimes opposing but always truthful discussion that will challenge you to consider all sides.

Episode 44 – Charlie Kirk’s Death, Society’s Breakdown & Our Call to Rise Above

This episode of Newvision Oldways is raw, urgent, and deeply personal. The tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk shook many of us to our core. Charlie was more than a commentator — he was a fearless truth-teller, a devoted family man, and a man of faith who never backed down from hard conversations.

In this special episode, I reflect on the senselessness of his murder, the state of our society, and the mental, moral, and spiritual breakdown that allows violence like this to keep happening. From another school shooting, to a commuter train stabbing, to a weekend of mass violence in Chicago — it feels as if we are living inside a nightmare.

But this episode is not just grief and anger. It is also a call to action. I share why I believe Charlie’s voice has not been silenced but magnified — and how his courage must now inspire us to reject hate, heal our divisions, and build a better world.

Here’s what we explore together:

🔹 The Ripple Effect of Violence – How murders like this are meant to silence, but often ignite a movement even stronger than before.
🔹 The Mental Breakdown of a Nation – Why polarization, echo chambers, and dehumanization make violence seem “justifiable” to the weak-minded.

Charlie Kirk lived with conviction, kindness, and strength. His life was a challenge to all of us: speak the truth, face opposition with grace, and choose courage over fear. His death must not push us into despair but propel us toward building a more truthful, compassionate, and courageous society.
