PodVader and the SuperFans break down the ballots for the first ever 1st Annual All SuperFans 1st and 2nd NFL Teams.  Who were the obvious votes and who were the snubs?

QB, TE, Oline and DE featured our 4 unanimous votes.  

Some interesting "snubs" at RB and WR including DeMarco Murray and Demaryius Thomas.

Luke Keuchly should have been a unanimous vote. Clay Matthews ends up on the outside looking in due to the confusion of his true position.  A few LBs like Thomas Davis and Jamie Collins also on the outside.  

The argument at CB is fierce for the 2nd team.  Are Patrick Peterson and Joe Haden over-rated?

And who cares about Special Teams? Well, some of us did vote for some kickers.  Ken sends a special shout out to Mike Scifres.

The NFC West is shaping up to be the most interesting division in the NFL. PodVader is joined by new SuperFans, Drew Brooks -Cardinals, Charlie Seahawks, 49ers Charly, and the O.G., Jarrod for the Rams. 

Couple of news & notes: Greg Hardy suspension reduced from 10 games to 4. Broncos and Cowboys being investigated for collusion. Fireworks injuries over the July 4th holiday. Ken Stabler dies.

Seahawks still have to be considered the kings of the division. Cardinals are no longer upstarts and they are going to run on Carson Palmer. Another player retired from the 49ers (joking), but can they remain at the top of the division? The expert darlings are in St. Louis. 

Best QB in the divison? Seahawks say there's no argument with Russell Wilson but is he NFL elite? The argument is if Colin Kaepernick is number 2 in the West. 

RB begins and ends with Beast Mode. Andre Ellington has to be the number 2 RB in the West, although Drew says it could end up being Todd Gurley. 49ers says watch out for Carlos Hyde. This swings into the Oline argument which helps the RB argument. 

But the battle begins with the WR corps and the Cards and 49ers try to top the other with useless stats to make their claims. Jimmy Graham makes the Seahawks an intriguing group. Never mind the Rams but...

They do have the best Dline in the division, perhaps in the NFL. Retirements took a toll on the 49ers front 7. Cards and Seahawks still strong there.

Legion of Boom, despite losing Byron Maxwell, is still best secondary in the division and maybe only second to the Jets in the NFL. The highly touted Rams don't have much in the secondary.

Quick update on Tom Brady's hearing.  

Jumping into the preview, Packers still the king of the division? Tom, Bears SuperFan, chimes in (after a note from Vikings SuperFan, Davey) that the Packers crown is riding solely on the health of Aaron Rodgers. Perhaps the Lions can compete for the moldy piece of cheese and be more balanced on offense according to Adam. It's a long rebuilding project for the Bears as Tom says Jay Cutler is the worst QB in the division. Watch the Vikings make the leap this year as Adrian Peterson returns with a chip on his shoulder and possibly 2000 yards.

 Getting into the position comparisons, interesting how deep the QBs and RBs are in the NFC North. Pod says not only do the Packers have the best WR corps, they have the best WR in Jordy Nelson over Calvin Johnson.  Don't sleep on Alshon Jeffery.  Pod tried to gloss over the Oline, but the SuperFans keep him in check. 

On Defense, lots of changes in Detroit but Adam isn't worried.  Tom says he's drinking the offseason Kool-Aid, and admits (AGAIN) that the Bears are last in the division.  Nobody other than Adam really likes their defense. Mike Zimmer is the right coach for the Vikings D.

We take a break from our preseason division previews with a special guest, Matt Chatham!  He's an 8 year NFL veteran, playing for the Patriots and the Jets, the founder of FootballbyFootball.com and host of blogtalkradio.com/footballbyfootball.  

When talking about the best triplets in the NFL (combo of QB, WR, RB) you need to look at value.  Strict production, probably start in Green Bay for Matt.  Matt ranks them Green Bay, Seattle, Pittsburgh - the Seattle conversation needs to include Jimmy Graham as a WR.  

Mark brings up the question, who's next though?  Matt thinks there are RBs that are unproven but will help some teams jump into the conversation and starts with Detroit and Amir Abdullah, Tevin Coleman in Atlanta and San Diego got Melvin Gordan.  

Pod goes to the Patriots and mentions that they could be a superior triplet combo without a RB.  Matt mentions Julian Edleman is a little better than he might get credit for.  

In a perfect world, you double a WR and take him out of the game.  To shut down the RB, you're playing an 8 man box.  So the trio conversation is fun, because if you draw a double somewhere, the other spot can dominate.

Let's not sleep on the Bengals?  Andy Dalton isn't as bad as he gets a rap for.  

Hey, how about dem Cowboys?  They believe they can be a success without Demarco Murray.  Are the Cowboys the best Oline in the NFL?  

So who is the worst? Cleveland or Jacksonville?

This is the only time in the NFL that there's a break from football.  Teams are crossing their fingers and holding their breath.  Matt used to head to Colorado to take some reps in elevation to improve his cardio.
