Next is your place for new music discovery. As always, our goal is to find you – a NEXT, new favorite song. Let us know how we are doing. We don’t mind the good, the bad, or the ugly.
Like a song. Share it on social media? Spread that new music love all over. Or don’t. Up to you.

Thanks for listening and thanks again to Ocean 98 for putting next on the radio.

Please support these bands…or we wouldn’t have bands like this around to support. Buy an album, or a ticket to a show, or a tee shirt, or…something from them. Thank you.
If there are any bands/managers/labels etc that want their music removed (for any reason) please contact me (chris at allthingsnext dot com) and I’ll promptly remove it. Thank you, bands, for making music. Thank you for making my life better because of the music you make. I am a passionate music consumer as are my listeners. If you think NEXT streaming music is bad please think it over again. I am a music maker advocate.

  • Next Week 683 Notable Songs of May 2019
Every once in awhile. At the end of every month. So I guess that isn’t every once in awhile but rather quite often. Monthly, in fact. I collect the data. The comments and tweets and messages and owls sent to me about what songs the NEXTers liked during a week. I gather that info. I study it. I put it together in charts, graphs, and other fancy ways of measuring such things.
Then out of the darkness appears 12 to 15 (usually) songs. Enough music to fill an hour. Well 55 to 56 minutes. A radio station must play adverts. So out the darkness emerges 15 songs. Notable songs. Notable songs of said month.
So thank you for you listening and taking the time to comment.

We try to find you a NEXT, new favorite song. It’s a simple goal but it’s not that simple. There’s a lot of great new music out there.
Where ever you are finding new music that’s glorious. I truly appreciate people that aren’t stuck in “college” or “high school” music. Don’t get me wrong. The blasts from your past are fun. Needed. But don’t lose that ability. The want. They need for new music. It’s important.
I’ve been looking up studies. Studying studies. And I’m putting together a post about that. If you think putting together an hour new music takes a while…holy balls. Someday I’ll finish that post. I might just start publishing a bit here and there. Just to get some of it out.
Glorious noise from: Tallies, Orville Peck, Violent Femmes, Dude York, Supersuckers, The Jacks, Amyl And The Sniffers, Weyes Blood, Lucette, Alex Lachey, The Teskey Brothers, Bailen, Sam Cohen

  • Next Week 678 Our Notable Songs of April 2019
It’s the last Wednesday of the month. This is the week where I review, replay, remind you of the songs that me smile in the last few weeks. Hopefully your ears smiled too. It’s tough to listen to all of NEXT so I started doing this “End of the Month” Notable songs show as a cheat. Maybe not a cheat. I mean, 4 hours out of a month – is a lot to ask. OK, not a lot, but surely you can find 1 hour in a month to listen to a few “top” songs. Even Kate Snow can find 1 hour. Maybe. It’s 1 hour. And if you listen on Spotify you can skip any song you don’t like. So it’s under an hour.
So here we are. Our notable NEXT songs of April 2019. Enjoy.
