Joe Gaglione earned Honorable mention All-Big Ten by league media and honorable mention defensive Lineman of the Week by CFPA for his play in win over Northern Illinois. LSU cornerback Tharold Simon does not get the same attention as  with former Tiger corners Patrick Peterson and Morris Claiborne or current draft eligible Tyrann Mathieu. Simon has prototypical size for the NFL at 6'2 and 193 pounds, making him match up well with mammoth NFL wideouts.
