Here's the story - in one of my classes we were tasked to do a group project for our final exam, and I didn't have a partner. I assumed that everyone else had a partner, but I also intended to do the project on my own for convenience sake. Turns out I wasn't alone. When asked in class who still needed a partner, I was the only one to speak up, but the person who initially requested the partner never got in contact with me. Instead, my friend Denard did. 

Next thing you know, this idea was born, and here we are. Long story short, God paired us up for a reason, and we hope and pray that the message comes through in the episode here. We explore current day social issues and see if there's a way we can be better and do better as followers of Christ. We dive deep into some history, both personal and general, in our conversation, looking for lessons to help us improve today and avoid the pitfalls of the past. Finally, we offer some ideas and mental perspectives that we believe can help us make the difference. There is a relationship between the problems of racism in our world today and missions and service, and there's a lot more we can do about it than you may think.

In this episode I get to speak with Naomi Seid, a graduate of Palau Mission Academy who was never my student. Interestingly enough, we still became friends and ended up in several of the same places later on, even working together back at PMA. She shares her experience from a perspective I haven't experienced yet, and challenges people on their first thoughts when they consider missions and service. It's clear for her that the impacts have been made on her because of people who were willing to avoid asking themselves and responding to the wrong question.
