Part 1 in our Confidence and Motivation Series. As a first generation Asian American, I saw firsthand how my parents and grandparents felt like their voices weren't heard. They believed that they didn't have the right to advocate for themselves. A lot of this has to do with our society and being in a new country. But some of it has to do with how people discourage the idea of entitlement. And no, I don't mean the snobby, pompous, prick kind of entitlement. I'm talking about the kind of entitlement that lets you speak up, ask questions, and voice your concerns when you're at the doctors - or in this case when you're getting your glasses.
