Matthew & Fernando interview Nic Carter, partner at Castle Island Ventures and founder of Coin Metrics. We discuss Bitcoin in 2018 and beyond.

We start with Nic's bearish (correct) call back in March, as well as social media reactions to his kidney joke if the price hits $4,000. Nic reflects on the correct theoretical positions from the Bitcoin Core side 3-4 years ago, as the layered approach is now working and adopted more and more each day. We ask if the legacy systems of Visa, Mastercard, Fedwire, etc. are correct comparisons to Bitcoin's system. Nic comments on Ethereum, Ripple, and EOS in this context as well. Nic continues on Bitcoin's "full stack" approach as a currency and payment system that's self-sovereign, and speaks to other projects' trade-offs in this regard.
