Welcome to a new series of posts about Berkshire called Berkshire Bimbles which you will find here and on Substack. I shall update the Substack posts to link back to these articles as a way of saying, “hey look there is this brilliant platform called Hive you may not have seen!”.

Each post will feature a short video and a point of interest in my county — sometimes though, we will stray into Hampshire etc.

We hopped in the car and drove the short distance to Newbury, which is a lovely town packed with history and a number of decent shops to explore. There are a lot of ideas for this series to explore there too.

I saw on South Today, the local news show on BBC that two bear statues had been added nearby in Reading and Newbury; plus around 18 other locations across the UK. I just had to go as I love Paddington!! Ever since the original TV series when i was a kid in the 70s was shown and of course the recent films have been an absolute blast!

The new film is coming soon of course! I cannot wait!
