In this episode, we’re discussing the haunted plunderphonics project: chipmunks on 16 speed. These albums consist of pop covers, as sung by Alvin and the Chipmunks, slowed down and processed to sound as if they are being played on a 16 RPM record player. The result is a sludgy and doomy rendition of a pop song that sits perfectly between the unsettling and the familiar.
