Night Wanderings

What makes a doll creepy? Is every doll created equal? Could every doll, from the tallest Raggedy Anne to the teensiest of Polly Pockets, have something innately frightening at their center? Why do they look different in the dark? Does the absence of light twist their faces, or do they have a hidden ability to do it themselves? Do they know when you put the lights out?

What do we hide in the dark spaces of our homes? What do we pack away, put aside, hoard for a later time and place? How often are the things we store forgotten? Lost among other mounting piles of saved treasures? Like pirates of old, we mark our chests with sharpies, masking tape versions of x’s, and bury them away from thieves or plunderers. What happens to those boxes when we no longer care about the contents, the remains, if you will allow such an allusion? Perhaps it’s better to keep the boxes we find closed.

The beauty of the physical stage is rarely transferred to the silver screen. There’s magic in the physical. The costumes, the actors, lights, and sounds are all closer. If there’s sweat you can smell it. If there’s tears, they are produced on demand rather than between takes. If there’s fire, you can feel it burn your skin. Tonight’s story takes us to a very special stage. One in which the audience can participate, whether they desire it or not.

Bonus - we introduce Echo, L Poland's latest full novel.

What is the real, full power of memory, imagination, and sentiment? What controls consciousness, and what can we project back into our reality through powers we may not fully understand or even be aware of?

How can we know our own talents and gifts, or those of the people around us? What are their limits.... what are their costs?

We don't always realize what is amiss, even when it's right in front of us...Dale was just out for a run in his neighborhood, listening to his favorite podcast.
