Simon Lim puts the spotlight on Jasmin Samat Simon - a lecturer, writer and actor. Jasmin is one of the three founding members of the theatre company, ACT 3. It was in 1981, that Jasmin and two friends, R. Ramachandran and Ruby Lim-Yang started ACT 3.  You may have even seen Jasmin in ACT 3's "The Merchant of Venice", "Macbeth" or "The Monkey King". 
You would recall Jasmin as a familiar face on local Singapore television - most notably as a host on "Aksi Mat Yoyo" and as Dr. Jaffar in "My Grandson the Doctor". Jasmin won a trophy for Best Performance by an Actor (Comedy/Light Entertainment) at the 1997 Asian Television Awards - for his role in "My Grandson the Doctor". 
Jasmin Samat Simon has been back in Singapore enjoying his role as a lecturer in an international school. You may or may not be aware that Jasmin had actually been working overseas in Indonesia as well as other countries for quite a while. 
Did you know that Jasmin has written books? He has even made his writing available in braille for the blind and visually impaired.
Jasmin is also currently the President of The Society for Reading and Literacy promoting reading, writing and storytelling in Singapore and abroad.

Simon Lim features Artist & Photographer Ernest Goh on this podcast. Ernest talks about his upcoming solo exhibition titled "BLEACHED BONES" to be held at Blueprint Art Space from 11th January - 10th February 2025.  
Bleaching is a phenomenon when corals turn completely white after algae in their tissues are expelled when their waters are too warm — nature’s lasting reminder that climatic changes continue to influence ecological systems. 
"BLEACHED BONES" is an invitation to meditate on our approach towards vulnerable marine and aquatic ecosystems, and the dangers they face due to human activity. The exhibition is also about reinvigoration — to look forward with possibilities and hope. 
Ernest’s explorations led to a discovery of unique formations of bleached corals. In these, he finds a visual parallel to the alphabet system which which he draws upon to contemplate lessons of life and living.

Ernest is an awardee of the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (Singapore) SG Eco Fund, and the National Environment Agency EcoFriend Award (2024). He also received the Discernment Award at the Icon de Martell Cordon Bleu Awards, Singapore (2012), and the Sony World Photography Award (2013).
