The 2024 Paris Olympics kicked off Friday with the opening ceremony taking place in Paris, France. During part of the ceremony, it appears performers attempted to reenact Leonardo DaVinci’s Last Supper, which for Christians, represents Jesus’ last meal with his twelve apostles. The scene that played out during that ceremony sparked widespread criticism from Christians and Conservatives alike. Olympic organizers insist it was not a depiction of the Last Supper but rather a scene depicting Dionysus, the Greek god of wine. Do you think it was an appropriate “performance”?

It’s coming up on almost a year since MA Gov. Maura Healey declared a state of emergency existed in the Commonwealth because of the influx of migrants. The migrant crisis has put a serious financial strain on the state’s budget. Taxpayers in Massachusetts have spent more than $1 billion to date on the emergency shelter system. Dan discussed a new report that has come out from the Center for Immigration Studies, which believes costs will only continue to go up if lawmakers “don’t do something to address the problem.”

Thousands of protesters against the war in Gaza, gathered outside Union Station in Washington, D.C. to protest Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress. The protesters were heard calling for Netanyahu’s arrest, lowered American flags and burned them, then proceeded to raise smaller Palestinian flags in their place. Vice President Kamala Harris condemned the “despicable” actions of the protesters, calling them “unpatriotic” and filled with “dangerous hate fueled rhetoric.” We broke down what occurred there in D.C.
