There are 9 days left to reach a debt ceiling and spending deal or risk an unprecedented default. June 1st marks the date U.S. Treasury Sec. Janet Yellen said is a “hard deadline” for raising the debt limit. President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy met to negotiate a deal. What would happen if the U.S. defaulted on the debt? Dan heard your thoughts on the debt ceiling.

Does it seem like wild turkeys are everywhere you turn? It’s not just your imagination, the wild birds have crept into some of Boston’s most urban areas and taken up residence. In some incidents citizens have encountered aggressive turkeys who try to attack. Have you had an encounter with an unruly turkey? Why are these birds inhabiting more of our neighborhoods? Wildlife Biologist at MassWildlife, David Scarpitti joined Dan to discuss.

Do you dread having to drive to Logan Airport? Dan now does too after battling difficult traffic in and around Logan this past weekend. Congestion at Logan can be especially bad on weekends, and it only will get worse this summer... New reports into the investigation of MA airman Jack Teixeira reveal that the airman was previously warned by his superiors about mishandling classified military documents. If this is the case, why was the airman allowed to continue his duties? Teixeira appeared in a Worcester court on Friday for a ruling on whether he will be released while awaiting trial on charges that he violated the Espionage Act. Dan brought you the latest.

After 50 years in captivity, plans have been made to release Lolita the orca whale from the Miami Seaquarium! Lolita was captured in the wild in 1970 and believed to be the oldest whale in captivity at 57 years old. There have been many studies highlighting the negative impacts of captivity on large mammals such as whales. Pres. of the Whale Sanctuary Project Dr. Lori Marino joined Dan to discuss.

Then, the second half hour:
Self-described FBI whistleblowers testified at a House hearing on the “weaponization” of the federal government. The FBI employees who spoke out against what they described as “politicized rot” within the bureau were either suspended or had their security clearance revoked. House Republicans led by Rep. Jim Jordan have been questioning the FBI’s legitimacy and launched an investigation into allegations of discrimination and bias within the FBI. Is there political bias within the FBI?
