  • "The Marine" Swings and Misses at the "Spaceballs"
A miscommunication with my guest resulted in only half the audio from "Spaceballs: The Podcast" being recorded. Hopefully my hot takes on WWE Studio's "The Marine" with John Cena will amuse you. If not, there are still some digital movie deals offered up to you

  • Vampires and the Vulgar Critiques of a Demented Podcaster
I have been asking for weeks for assistance in composing an episode dedicated to vampire features like "The Lost Boys" trilogy, "Near Dark", and the "Underworld" movies. Here is to hoping that this bunch of critiques will stir up some inspiration in my audience to step up and hold off on the garlic.

  • ThePoeticCritic's Cinematic Chicken Salad
ThePoeticCritic and I have a discussion about "The Lost Boys" and Joel Schumacher does not get to heated because it was so easy to talk up the importance of "Near Dark" and the how that film has many parallel's with other Kathryn Bigelow features. We get to have a discussion about the absurdist humor of John Waters and how Woody Allen, for better or worse, is one of his closest contemporaries. This also leads me to ask if we needed a more absurd Stanley Kubrick.

  • Bust'n Meatballs at the Caddyshack
Andrew Tiede comes to the pod. He let me know what Ivan Reitman directed and Harold Ramis penned feature he wanted to gush over, so we talk about the sub 100-minute movies that got us to that paranormal comedy from 1984. And then we gush about the battle with the marshmallow behemoth.

  • Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison vs. @CatBusRuss and @QuidPro_Joe (Part 2)
@QuidPro_Joe and I determine "The Wedding Singer" is our favorite Adam Sandler film and then the podcast goes off the rails. Reminiscent for the 80's, we go on to talk about everything Generation X and Millennials can relate to: "Star Wars", "Star Trek", 80's emo and Todd Phillips ruining a generation of movie goers with "Joker".

  • Mitchell Macabre at the "Dance of the Dead" (Part 2)
Mitchell Whitt from the "Morbidly Macabre" podcast and I conclude our conversation about 2008's "Dance of the Dead". We talk about its strong and beyond appropriate gore effects, how it stacks up against other zombie comedies like "Fido" and "Dead Snow", and how we have to get the theater business, at least on the Champaign/Urbana level, ready to blow the minds of those who will coming back to Ebert Fest.

  • Mitchell Macabre at the "Dance of the Dead" (Part 1)
Mitchell Whitt from the "Morbidly Macabre" podcast found that he was not alone when it came to the appreciation of "Dance of the Dead", a Ghost House Underground feature that was directed by Gregg Bishop and written by Joe Ballarini. Ghost House Pictures was founded by "Evil Dead" director Sam Raimi and his producer Robert Tapert, so it was only natural to be drawn to a feature their money was behind with humor and ridiculous zombies to fight.

  • Disney, Pixar, and State-Run Streaming Services
The goal of this episode is to be brief, have fun, and see if I can get this onto YouTube. In other words, I am taking a little conversation with ThePoeticCritic and seeing if I can elaborate on it for just under 10 minutes. This is my best attempt at satire on my show, so let me know if it works.
My older sister was discussing how only Disney's inhouse features are requiring a thirty dollar fee to watch them as new releases. It seems the Pixar crew is upset that their feature releases lack the pomp and circumstance. This lead to me joking about, "If you want equality, we need a communist streaming service."
