Mother's Day Sermon for the 5th Sunday of Easter year C.

This sermon was preached at St. Mark's in Beaumont, Trinity, Baytown and then at St. Martin's Houston for confirmation. I enjoyed playing with the idea of rules and Jesus' guiding principles of Christian life.

I was asked to speak about balancing ministry and family life. This is a pesentation to people, lay and clergy, who work in the church. I am using some themes from prior talks, and really trying to wrestle with the nature of our work and living life that is abundant. I found that this was really challenging for me to do and for me to hear.

This is from a presentation made to members of our college missions who gathered at Camp Allen for a retreat. The topic of the retreat was The Gospel Story. This is the first presentation which is a combination of reflections about emerging culture and the challenges of telling our story in an ever changing missionary environment.
