Video SummaryJack Frimston and Zac Thompson have been best friends since they were 15. They’ve lived together, travelled the world together, and now run We Have A Meeting - a B2B sales agency they proudly bill as the UK’s second best. One started it with a fourth baby on the way and a month’s wages in the bank. The other quit a cruise ship singing career to join him.
Five years in, their best financial month ever was this past August. This episode is a proper entrepreneur origin story with all the bits that usually get left off LinkedIn. The stomach ulcer. The £50k shortfall. The moment Zac had to tell Jack there might not be enough money to pay everyone - on the drive to meet his newborn. The lessons they’ve had to learn the hard way about cash flow, hiring and not running a business on pure vibes.
They also get into why cold calling still works (and the therapy session technique that makes it convert), how they built a LinkedIn audience by posting every single day for five years, and why the guests who won’t share podcast clips afterwards are usually the same ones with fake followers.Show Notes and Transcript

Christina Minshull spent 15 years on the corporate side - leading brand and social teams at EY, LinkedIn and WestJet, winning a Cannes award along the way - before founding The Brand Audit, a personal brand strategy agency for CEOs and executives. And she might be the only person running one who actually comes from a marketing background.
In this episode, Christina joins Sabrina for a conversation that cuts through the noise around personal branding and gets to what actually works. They get into why most personal brand agencies are run by salespeople rather than marketers (and why that's a serious problem), why brand strategy is making a massive comeback after a decade of obsession with lead generation, and why everything you think you know about "authentic" content is probably wrong.
Christina also shares her trust economy theory - the idea that we've moved from an information economy, to an attention economy, to a trust economy - and what that means for how founders and executives need to show up online from here.Show Notes and TranscriptVisit the website to get the transcriptions, notes and more insights from the episodes:https://n0bspodcasts.comWhat is the podcast? This podcast is for anyone who wants to learn what it’s really like running a business. Description
Lawrie Philpott spent thirty years inside PwC before founding his own leadership consultancy, Philpott Black. In this episode we go through the actual jobs behind that CV: consulting assignments in Kuwait during Ramadan, Liberia, Nigeria, Kenya and Sudan, leading a flood control strategy for Bangkok, and a trip to the high Arctic that dropped to minus 76 with wind chill, all in the name of writing a better report.
We get into what actually separates someone who can do great work from someone who can also sell it, why "working in the organisation" and "working on the organisation" are two different jobs that most leadership teams only do one of, what a board is actually for versus what it's become, and the point at which a growing business genuinely needs one. Lawrie also gives his honest answer on the biggest bullshit in consulting: senior people showing up to win the pitch, then disappearing the moment the work starts.
If you're building a leadership team, thinking about your first board, or trying to work out why some client relationships last twenty five years and others don't, this one's for you.

Louisa Plint is a third-time founder at 34 who started her first business at 20. She's now the CEO of AuxPay and Auxeris, building fintech tools to fix one of the most persistent and painful problems in business - recruiters not getting paid on time.
But this episode goes far beyond B2B payments. Louisa and Sabrina get into the hiring crisis and the AI cold war that's made finding good people harder than ever - candidates using AI to bulk apply, recruiters using AI to vet them, and the actual quality of the candidate not moving an inch. There's a brilliant conversation about red flags in interviews, why being genuinely human with your team beats polish every time, and why AI outreach is quietly killing real relationships.

Ashley Morris is the co-founder of Pod Partnerships, a content sponsorship agency connecting brands with podcasters and YouTubers. He's spent five years inside the industry training over 10,000 podcasters and working with hundreds of brands - and he knows better than almost anyone what actually makes a podcast valuable to a brand. Spoiler: it has nothing to do with your subscriber count.
In this episode, Ash joins Sabrina for a conversation every podcaster and content creator needs to hear. They get into why 90% of podcasts don't survive past seven episodes, the difference between audio and video podcasts, and why serving a niche audience of 100 people will always beat chasing a general audience of thousands.Show Notes and TranscriptVisit the website to get the transcriptions, notes and more insights from the episodes:https://n0bspodcasts.comWhat is the podcast? This podcast is for anyone who wants to learn what it’s really like running a business. Isvari Maranwe has had one of the most unconventional career paths you'll hear on this podcast - from particle physics and supernova cosmology, to national security law, to US government attorney, to accidental influencer with 350,000 followers, to founder of two platforms with a shared mission: fix what's broken about social media and the media industry itself. In this episode, Isvari joins Sabrina to break down why she's building Yu Voice - a social media platform that rewards real-world impact over engagement, follower counts and dopamine hits. She also explains why she turned down a $2 million predatory investment offer AND an acquisition offer from a major competitor who simply wanted to buy her idea and shut it down.Along the way, they get into the loneliness economy - why social media is literally designed to keep you single, isolated and spending - what authentic content actually looks like versus what people perform online, and how Isvari built a following that genuinely shows up for her by refusing to be anyone other than exactly who she is.Show Notes and TranscriptVisit the website to get the transcriptions, notes and more insights from the episodes:https://n0bspodcasts.comWhat is the podcast? This podcast is for anyone who wants to learn what it’s really like running a business. Video Summary
Harri Davies hasn't applied for a job since 2011. Instead, he's spent his career finding founders with real problems and pitching himself as the person to solve them - from corporate law and tackling inequality in the legal profession, to running an accelerator helping graduates and mid-career professionals build profitable businesses from scratch.
In this episode, Harri joins Sabrina to make a compelling case for the "Company of One" - a model that prioritises autonomy, profitability and freedom over headcount, VC funding and vanity metrics. They get into why the CV is becoming obsolete, what employers actually want from young people right now, and how AI is creating more opportunity than it's destroying - if you know how to use it.Show Notes and TranscriptVisit the website to get the transcriptions, notes and more insights from the episodes:https://n0bspodcasts.comWhat is the podcast? This podcast is for anyone who wants to learn what it’s really like running a business. Adama is a senior software engineer, YouTuber with 185k subscribers, powerlifter, oil painter, and founder of The Multi Passionate Professional - and she has spent years figuring out how to make all of it work together, not despite each other. In this episode, Adama joins Sabrina to dig into what it really means to build a personal brand when you have multiple passions, and why the standard advice to "niche down" is actively working against people like them. They get into her Renaissance Positioning Formula, why business owners and content creators need completely different strategies, and why chasing views is one of the fastest ways to burn out if you're a founder. There's also a genuinely refreshing conversation about authenticity - what it actually means versus the performative version being sold online - and why you absolutely do not need to share your whole life to build trust with an audience.Show Notes and TranscriptVisit the website to get the transcriptions, notes and more insights from the episodes:https://n0bspodcasts.comWhat is the podcast? This podcast is for anyone who wants to learn what it’s really like running a business. Fred Afrifa moved to the UK at 12 years old not speaking a word of English, grew up as the only African kid in Milan where racism was just "normal," ran away from a school fight and discovered he was one of the fastest teenagers in the country, became a two-time national sprint champion, drove deliveries to pay the bills, and is now the go-to communication coach for executives at some of the world's biggest brands. Oh, and he got fired on national television in the process.
In this episode, Fred sits down with Sabrina to get brutally honest about fear of judgement, why confidence is a myth in its broadest sense, and what those years of athletics actually taught him about building a business.
They also get into the identity crisis of growing up between cultures, the real story behind his Apprentice firing, and why the personal development industry is riddled with people selling dreams they've never actually lived.*Show Notes and Transcript*Visit the website to get the transcriptions, notes and more insights from the episodes:https://n0bspodcasts.com*What is the podcast?*This podcast is for anyone who wants to learn what it’s really like running a business. Bianca Mitchell Avila started making her chess documentary, Madwoman's Game, at her dining table when she was just 15 years old - with no Hollywood connections, no budget, and one piece of advice from her dad: the worst thing that can happen if you reach out is a no.
Six years later, that cold email landed Keanu Reeves as executive producer, and the film is premiering at the Miami Film Festival.
In this episode, Bianca joins Sabrina to talk about building an all-star cast, what it's actually like having Keanu Reeves as a mentor, and why she refused to let the same handful of chess stories keep getting told. Sabrina also opens up about her own chess journey - being the only Black female chess master in the UK — and the very different way that story was received in the US versus at home.
Expect honest talk on rejection, betting on yourself, walking away from clients who don't respect your worth, and the long, messy road from a kitchen-table idea to a film festival premiere.🔗 Links Mentioned in VideoMadwoman's Game: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt34704424/Show Notes and TranscriptVisit the website to get the transcriptions, notes and more insights from the episodes:https://n0bspodcasts.comWhat is the podcast? This podcast is for anyone who wants to learn what it’s really like running a business.
