254 In this episode, I continue the discussion on complaining and what I see in the Bible is a better reaction to things not going as planned.
I use Numbers 14:2-5, 11, 17-24 as the primary scriptures for the Bible lesson, but I remind you of Philippians 4:6,7 how Paul tells us to be anxious for nothing but to make gratitude and thankfulness a way of life.
It's time you and I pick a side in this life, and John 10:10 is an excellent example of the two sides to choose from in the battle.
253 In this episode, I ask the question, "When things don't go as planned is it ok to complain?"
Before I answer the question I chase a rabbit about the Sabbath and is it important to God.
Numbers 15:32-36 are the verses to illustrate my point.
As I was reading Numbers this week, it amazed me how many times the children of Isreal complained about how God was taking them from slavery to blessing. Numbers 14:3-5
252 In this episode, I talk about my new course "30 Days to Destroy Fear Using the Bible."
I normally don't promote anything on the episodes but this has been a struggle and I have started this course and Online Christian Community.
The website is ChurchAtTheWell.org and it is where you can join our "beta" group.
I've always wanted to beta-test something and now I've got my chance. Thank you to all the "fanatics" who have encouraged me to keep going. (I wanted to quit more than once)
251 In this episode, I conclude the teaching on many are called but few are chosen.
I talk about the importance of being humble and I tie the lesson to the scriptures I've used before to show how God called me into this "podcast ministry."
1 Corinthians 1:26-29
250, In this episode, I continue to teach on many are called but few are chosen and I use Deuteronomy 30:15,19 as my example in this teaching.
God makes it clear what His will is for you and He gives you the correct answer to the test. I use 2 Peter 3:9 and 1 Peter 2:9 to help anchor my point.
249 In this episode, I continue to teach on many are called but few are chosen.
In 1 Samuel 23:1-13, I show you what free will looks like using King David and how he used information he received from God about what would happen in the future to make a decision in the present.
I also talk about the sovereignty of God (how I define it) and why I believe many in the Body of Christ are using a wrong definition of God's sovereignty.
248 In this episode, I continue to teach on the topic many are called but few are chosen.
I use John 3:16,17 and Romans 19:9,10 to help you see it is up to you to make sure your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
247 In this episode, I continue to teach on "many are called but few are chosen.
I use a couple of familiar verses (to this podcast) Matthew 7:13,14
Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Many (wide), few, (chosen) broad, narrow, and difficult notice all of these words as you read Mathew 7:13,14 and think about "our lesson" many are called and few are chosen.
It seems like a clear relationship to me.
246 In this episode, I begin to unpack the question, "What does many are called few are chosen mean to you?
The first lesson is to remember God loves you and He has not made it difficult for you to be chosen. It is simple but for many, it is not easy.
Why? Pride, God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
You are saved by grace through faith. More on this later.
245, In this episode, I give you a behind-the-scenes look at what's going on in my life today and the verses in the Bible I use to combat worry and anxiety.
The course I'm creating, 30-Days to Destroy Fear using the Bible will be available here. (when I get everything corrected)
