The band spent a long time in the studio with this record, going on to refer to it as their "longest labor of love". The result is a collection of wide-ranging styles that blend lo-fi, noise pop,  grunge, and even electronica with their shoegaze sound. And with lead singer Damon Tutunjian's affinity for creating mixtapes from his youth, the band also incorporates tape loops, white noise, and sampled music into the mix, creating seamless transitions from track to track. For those just getting into the shoegaze genre, there are a handful of albums that are must-listens. Of course at the top sits My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless", Slowdive's "Souvlaki", and Ride's "Nowhere". But while there are must-listen albums, perhaps more important are the must-listen songs. And for many, Drop Nineteen's Delaware features one of shoegaze's greatest moments: the ethereal, slow-build simmer of "Kick The Tragedy", a near 9 minute drone with an unexpected sucker punch two-thirds of the way through that left a lasting impression on new and old fans of the genre and cemented the band as one of shoegaze's greatest acts.
