Contrary to what some believe, when we get saved our lives do not become free of all suffering and pain. Jesus said that if we want to follow Him we must take up our cross daily to do so, which means we will walk the path of suffering. Denying our sinful flesh is painful, but it is the necessary practice to have the abundant life that God offers.
