Two days later, his body was discovered in the trunk of his own car, parked on a desolate county road in rural Rusk County. The discovery sparked an investigation involving the Rusk County Sheriff's Office and the FBI—but despite the agencies involved, no one has ever been arrested. No one has been charged.
