Nobody could understand who would ever want to hurt Philip Inhofer, a kind and quiet veteran living in Sacramento after retirement to civilian life. But on the night of March 7th 1991, his son would discover his father's lifeless body and a terrifyingly brutal crime scene. His vehicle was missing, but the overkill had authorities thinking that this was no ordinary robbery gone wrong. A name on a nightstand note would be the only lead they had to work with.
