Lately… we’ve been in a funk. Not quite sad, not quite okay — just somewhere in between. You know that space where you’re doing all the “right” things but still feel off? That’s where we’ve been sitting.
In this episode, we get real about what it means to be in an emotional funk — those seasons where your energy dips, your motivation disappears, and even the things you love feel heavy. We talk about why it happens, how to move through it with compassion instead of guilt, and what it’s teaching us about slowing down, surrendering, and trusting our own timing.
Because being “in a funk” doesn’t mean you’re failing — it means you’re feeling. It’s your mind and body asking for stillness, softness, and maybe a little less pressure to have it all figured out.
If you’ve been floating between survival and healing, or you’ve been wondering “what’s wrong with me?” — this one’s for you. You’re not broken, you’re just becoming.
💌 Tune in, breathe, and know you’re not alone.

Divorce is one of those life events that can break you—or shape you. In this episode, we open up about what it was like growing up as first-gen daughters of divorced parents, and how that experience changed the way we see love, family, and ourselves. From learning independence too early, to carrying unspoken responsibilities, to navigating two households that felt like different worlds—divorce shaped so much of who we are.
But instead of letting it define us in pain, we’re reflecting on how it actually became a catalyst for growth. We talk about the resilience it built, the empathy it gave us, and the lessons we now carry into our healing journey as mujeres. This isn’t about romanticizing the hard parts—it’s about reclaiming them.
If you’ve ever felt torn between two sides of your family, struggled to create stability when it wasn’t handed to you, or learned to mother yourself in the absence of peace, this conversation is for you.

We’re Viviann and Vieney, two first-gen Mexican-American sisters who used to say yes to everything... until we realized it was costing us our peace, our softness, and our voice. In this first episode of No More Yes Girls, we’re getting raw, real, and reflective about:
-Why we were conditioned to always say yes
-The emotional cost of people-pleasing and overgiving-The generational cycles we’re unlearning-What led us to finally choose ourselves
-Why we created this space for mujeres who are tired of living in survival mode.
Whether you’re the “strong one,” the “good girl,” the first-gen daughter, or the woman who’s finally ready to start saying no without guilt.... this space is for you.
We’re not experts. We’re not here to preach. We’re just two sisters healing out loud and inviting you to come with us.🫶🏽 Welcome to No More Yes Girls. You belong here.

No Más Yes Girls 🎙️
ENGLISH 🇺🇸
We’re Viviann & Vieney... two first-gen Mexican-American sisters who grew up learning how to be the “good girls.”
Say yes.
Be…
But somewhere along the way, we realized something…
Keeping everyone else happy was costing us ourselves.
So we started asking questions we were never taught to ask.
Why do we feel guilty saying no?
Why is resting so uncomfortable?
Why do we feel responsible for everyone’s feelings?
And how much of who we are… is actually who we were taught to be?
No Más Yes Girls is a bilingual English + Spanish podcast about healing, family, cultura, boundaries, relationships, generational patterns, and all the messy things we’re learning and unlearning along the way.
Some episodes are just us. Some include guests with stories of their own. But every conversation comes back to the same thing: getting curious about what shaped us and deciding what we want to carry forward.
We’re not therapists. We’re not experts.
We’re just two sisters healing, laughing, crying, questioning things, and figuring it out out loud.
For the good girls, the strong ones, las hijas que siempre pudieron con todo…
Maybe it’s finally time to ask:
What happens when you stop being who everyone needed you to be… and start becoming you? 🫶🏽
No decepciones a nadie.
Algunos episodios somos solo nosotras.
No somos terapeutas. No somos expertas.
