Every January the same thing happens. You make the list. Lose weight. Save money. Exercise more. Be better. And by February — or let's be honest, January 15th — the list is in the trash and the guilt has moved in. There's a reason for that. And it's not because you're lazy or undisciplined. It's because the way most people set goals is fundamentally broken.
In this episode Peggy and Marci cut through the noise on goal setting — and give you a completely different way to think about what you actually want and why. They also make the case for using AI as your personal goal setting coach — and why it might be the most underrated tool in your self development toolkit right now.
This one is practical, funny and genuinely perspective shifting. 💛
Journal Prompts to Go Deeper:
Prompt 1: The One Goal If you could only focus on ONE area of your life this year — just one — what would have the biggest compounding effect on everything else? Write down your top 10 things you want to shift. Then ask yourself: which ONE of these, if I focused on it, would naturally move the others?
Prompt 2: Whose Goal Is This? Look at your list. For each goal ask honestly — is this mine? Or is this what my mom wants, what society expects, what I think I should want? Put a name next to each one. Keep the ones with YOUR name on them.
Prompt 3: The January 1st Vision Close your eyes and picture January 1st next year. You achieved your goal. What does your life actually look like? How do you feel? What's different about your day? Write it out in as much detail as possible — present tense, as if it already happened.
