There is no doubt that the hottest cultural topic raging through the United States and around the world right now is the Congressional Hearing with Dr. Fauci. For those who watched it, I am sure that some old feelings were stirred up.  Mine sure were.  For the next 3 episodes I am going to share some of my diary from January 2020 through March 2021.  With that will be included dates along with personal perspectives. What did I do during lockdowns? Why did I feel so compelled to follow the stories? Why was I recording interviews of experts who questioned the Covid response? Today I was thrilled to have 4 of the original authors from the first published book I was ever in entitled: Ageless Voices...Fun, Fearless and Fabulous.  Moriah Hudson, Anne Lorimor, Lucie Rosa-Stagi and Terese Parkin stopped by for a relaxed conversation to do some catching up.  Our journey together with 33 other women aged 60 to 98 at the time of it's creation, all started with an idea that JoyAnn Gold had to Celebrate Life, Share Wisdom and Embrace the journey with an Ageless Mindset. The 37 Ageless Stars told 77 Inspiring Stories of having Fun while living Fearless and Fabulous. Through this project consisting of many zooms, videos. emails and coffee chats over an approximate 2 year period, wonderful lasting relationships evolved.  Being a part of this book not only made us all #1 International Best Sellers but sparked ideas and aspirations that have followed us.   As JoyAnn Gold says "birthdays are to be celebrated." Her shared mindset that aging can be positive is part of a movement!  Getting older does not mean that we are old, we are just older with lots of wisdom and experiences to share. All age groups can enjoy the stories shared in Ageless Voices.

Cheryl is a woman on a mission to change the world or at least her part of the world starting in Trinidad, addressing the global challenges of an aging population. The main topic for today is about Cheryl's new project called Aging with Dignity, Grace, Ease and Wellbeing. Cheryl not only shares her concerns of what is happening today but, in the future combining her thought provoking solutions. We discuss a few topics from technology to loneliness to purpose to culture to intergenerational program benefits. Younger generations can learn a lot from the Wisdom the generations before us possess but modern society does not always see it that way.  Cheryl expresses her positive outlook on that there are wonderful ideas and programs centered around the United Nations but what is lacking, is taking the actions needed for success.

I first met Cheryl when we were in coffee chat discussions and zooms for the collaborative book, Ageless Voices that was published in December 2024.  Cheryl has had many challenging experiences in her life and yet she continues to Shine!

I found Cheryl's information on aging very enlightening, and her enthusiastic personality made our conversation very enjoyable.  Who knows maybe Cheryl will have her own podcast in the not too distant future.  I will be checking in with her on her progress and mission. The world needs more people like her!

WOW what a weekend it was!  250 years as a country sounds like a lot but when compared to other countries that have been around for centuries, we are only about 10 generations in.  How did you celebrate?  Did you wear red, white and blue?  Did you have a BBQ? Did you fly your flag? Did you watch some fireworks? Did you think about those who have sacrificed so we can celebrate? As part of a Military Family, I think about that a lot.  My husband is a Veteran Marine Capt.  My dad was in the Army AirForce in WWII.  One of my sons is a Major in the AirForce and flies the C-130.  My son was deployed for a few months and he was able to come home on July 4th.  How wonderful is that?  I saw a video of his 9 year old daughter opening their front door and screaming "dad" and doing a running jump to get into his arms. Neither one of them could say a word...just hugs! 50 years ago my oldest son was born during the Bicentennial and now to celebrate the 250th, that is special.  I have a rocking chair that I bought when I was pregnant that says 1776 Bicentennial 1976 that I took out of storage and gave to him on his birthday. 

Our country is in a state of confusion!  That worries me a lot.  Our forefathers gave up so much so that we could complain when we should be grateful.  Less than 10 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, there was a Constitutional Convention in 1787. Upon leaving, a woman named Elizabeth Willing Powel asked Benjamin Franklin a question.  She reportedly asked "well doctor, what have we got---a republic or a monarchy?" Benjamin replied "A Republic if you can keep it."  This phrase has endured because it emphasizes that a constitutional republic depends on the ongoing commitment of it's CITIZENS to preserve it. Not illegal aliens given that right but our citizens! My concern is that we will lose it if the constant negative remarks and behavior will take hold.  My question is, can we be more Patriotic? Can we keep our Republic?  This could be our biggest fight yet!

What is happening to the WNBA? I am not one who watched WNBA basketball before Caitlin Clark.  It just did not appeal to me although my 3 sons all played basketball and we were of the generation of the NBA 80's and 90's.  I did like the idea that women's basketball was gaining traction in viewership and salaries.  This league has been  working hard at trying to level up and that was encouraging. Then came along Caitlin Clark, soon to be recognized as the Generational Super Star, similar to the likes of Larry Bird, Magic Johson and Micheal Jordon.  What happened was just not the focus on her talent but something else was manifesting. She was not only that good of a talent but was a white, straight girl who was now getting attention for the wrong reasons. Was she tough?  Yes?  But when did that equate to poor sportsmanship and cheap shots from other teams with what seems to be the "get her" mentality.  Couple that with poor officiating and the court became a free for all.  Is this basketball or football?  Do the players need helmets and protective gear? My question is why was this being allowed to continue to the "fever pitch" that it did? Is it viewership or cowardice or most likely, a little bit of both?

Mr. Steve Abramowicz is a Wall Street wealth manager, newspaper editor and best selling author turned into a very successful podcast host with 500 episodes giving a platform to those voices who could not otherwise be heard. He has interviewed Dr. Peter McCullough, Dr. Robert Malone, Dr. Judy Mikovits, Martha Byrne, Jennifer O'Neill, Nick Scarcy, Riley Gaines, FBI whistleblowers, Trafficking rescuers, and Moms fighting school boards to name just a few.

During Covid, I took lots of notes and had tons of questions.  I would watch stories on my computer and record them to my phone. I am so happy that I did because many of those stories and links have disappeared, especially of those individuals who had questions and were being silenced by main stream media, government agencies and so called experts, etc.  Through this conversation, I was able to recall what I learned during that time with Steve's insights and expertise. In addition to Covid, the controversies regarding January 6th, election fraud and transgender issues are all discussed along with Steve's personal experiences involving his daughter's swim team allowing transgender boys and his life in Seattle prior to moving to Tennessee.  Steve says, "For anyone who's ever felt alone in seeing what's happening to America...and wondered if one voice could make a difference, the answer is yes."  My question to any one listening is...Did you get some of your questions answered or do you now have more?

Anyone who has ever had to say goodbye to a beloved pet, knows how difficult it can be. Bandit was a Jack Russell Terrier full of vim and vigor in his younger years. He and I started out with a love/hate relationship and over time became good friends. Letting go was especially hard for my husband because Bandit was his son's dog.  Alex died 14 years ago and Bandit was almost 18.  Holding on to Bandit was also holding onto Alex.  People say that you will know when it is time to say goodbye and I believe that to be true.  Bandit was giving us signs over the last 6 months and we were watching. It was his sight and his hearing that first started to fail him. He no longer jumped on the bed and was afraid to walk on his stairs to get up and down on the couch. In the last several weeks at 7:00 pm like clockwork, he would start to walk in circles by the front door as a form of dementia.  We saw the signs and knew the time was coming but when?  I tell the story of the last few days and how we found comfort in having someone come to our home to say Goodbye.  Maybe this can help you too when the time comes. The one thing to remember is not to feel guilty.  Pets are trying to hang on for us but we cannot be selfish.  Thank You Good and Faithful Beloved Pets for a Job Well Done! xoxo
