For more than 52 years, Bruce Bennett has recorded the visual history of the sport of hockey in still imagery. During that time, Bruce has covered over 5,700 NHL preseason and regular season games, in 58 different arenas. Bruce has covered a total of 46 Stanley Cup deciding games. In addition, he has shot 33 All-Star games, over 450 international hockey games, and 259 Olympic Games while covering 7 Winter Olympics. In 2025, Bruce was inducted into both the New York State Hockey Hall of Fame and the US Hockey Hall of Fame.

In this episode, I interview Brad Mangin, a San Fransisco based photographer. Brad talks about being hired by sports photography pioneer Neil Leifer, and working with other sports photography greats, including VJ Lovero, Michael Zagaris, Peter Read Miller, Robert Beck, John W. McDonough, Robert Seale, and many others. Brad has captured many iconic baseball milestones, and has published baseball photography books; Instant Baseball, Never.Say.Die, and Worth the Wait.

I spoke with Kelsey about getting into photography, and her journey into becoming a team photographer.
