Practical Magic (1998, Time Stamp) stars Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens raised by their aunts Frances and Jet, played by Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest. It's difficult to summarize the plot of this movie succinctly because there are two totally different films happening at once. There's a bit of a goofy, romance movie featuring Sally wishing she was normal and finding love twice over while accepting being an outsider as a witch. Meanwhile Gilly is in an abusive relationship with a man that she and Sally then accidentally kill, but his spirit has to be banished which is giving mild horror film. Directed by McG (Charlie's Angels) and written by Simon Kinberg (Mr. and Mrs. Smith), the movie is visually delightful, great ad-libs from Chelsea Handler in the requisite best friend role, and hot people flirting with each other constantly. What more could you ask for?
