It’s another first for the No Outlet Podcast! The first Captain is joining the podcast tonight! The ocean is something that I have been equally in awe of and terrified of at the same time. Maybe a better way to put it is that I appreciate and have the utmost respect for the Power of the Ocean. If it has a point to make...it never loses and when I think about having the skill (and bravery) to navigate through that power and danger of the Atlantic Ocean (or any ocean) on a sailboat I realize that I have identified something I am probably not up for. Tonight Sailor Erin Kehew joins the show and not only done that, but she is a true expert. In fact, she recently was a “Shift Captain” for a trip from Newport RI ALLLLLL the way to Bermuda.....and back again! We talk about how long it takes to get to Bermuda via sailboat (longer than I thought!), How many people in a crew, food on board, work shifts, examples of how no one parties like Sailors, time travel vs. Aliens among us, the fact that she has not seen a mermaid but has seen a UFO (in my opinion), the humbling size of a great white shark, her Mount Rushmore of Sailing trips, her favorite port to sail into, journeys that are too much ever for her, the importance of keeping your mouth shut (applies to many situations), the best sailing gear, we determine if sailors are snobs, we discuss the splendor that is the America's cup, growing up sailing in Newport, sailing in the pitch dark (no thank you) and the cut of your jib among many other nautical topics! Thank you for coming on the show and we hope you enjoyed the conversation as much as we did!

Big Big episode folks! This is an interview that is one year in the making and the guest is one that I am very excited about. When I was growing up in the 70s and 80s (which was amazing for many reasons) TV was just a different experience then. For one, there was only a few channels, there was no recording shows, there was no fast forwarding through show so you had to be there to watch and before NBC created “Must see TV” there was our own version of must see TV on channel 38 and 56 both UHF stations out of Boston – if you are under 35 and don’t know what UHF is, look it up…you needed an actual antenna to watch…anyway, part my after school ritual with my brother and anyone else was around involved watching a Certain Show…it’s the story of lovely lady who was bringing up three very lovely girls…that’s right that show was "The Brady Bunch" a TV classic and groundbreaking show in many ways…a cultural touchstone for certain. Our guest tonight is Wendy Winans from Bradyworld.com and she is one of the biggest (IF NOT THE BIGGEST) Brady Bunch fan on the planet and she has a cool website to prove it! Wendy and I talk about the origins of Bradyworld.com, her amazing Brady Bunch collection that will be featured on this weeks version of "Collectors Call" on Metv! (go check it out!), we discuss the infamous Tiki Doll necklace (bad luck OR good luck?), we review the mystery of Carols first husband, the sad story of Tiger the dog(s), the amazing list of celebrity guest performers, the genius of Sherwood Schwartz, Fake Jan, MARCIA MARCIA MARCIA, the amazing talent of Barry Williams, the business acumen of Peter Brady, all the kids hooking up with each other, was Bobby a Dead Head?, MARCIA MARCIA MARCIA, a fact that no one knows about the Brady Bunch, the generosity of Robert Reed, the curse of Johnny Bravo, Wendy's favorite episodes, the efficiently powerful impact of Sam the Butcher, the miracle of all Brady child actors avoiding the very common pitfalls of child stardom, which character would she most want to hang out and and of course we tackle the subject of Cousin Oliver among many other hidden secrets and stories about the greatest TV show ever made*! We hope you enjoyed the conversation as much as we did and make sure to check out Wendy's edition of "Collectors Call" on MeTV! #Bradybunch #bradyworld #marciamarciamarcia #tikidoll #samthebutcher #metv #collectorscall #fakejan #cousinoliver #barrywilliams #johnnybravo #tigerthedog #lisawhelchel #UHF #aftershoolspecial #Alice #sherwoodschwartz #1970sTV
Dian Bachar is on the No Outlet Podcast!

Wow. When you drop the ball, the best path is complete ownership. So, here I am owning my blunder(s)! Not only did I have the wrong date for my scheduled appearance (episode forthcoming!) But I had an overly intuitive (intrusive?) Social Media platform all wrong and I am here to make it right. In just about 10 mins, I fall on every sword there is to fall on...ok, it's just two but they are big ones. We often mock or ridicule what we do not understand and that was the case with my perception of Tic Toc and, in under 12 minutes, I cleanse all my misconceptions and do my best to promote the platform for what it is and that is whatever you want it to be! Anyway, in the immortal words of Elaine Benes "stuff your sorry's in a sack mister!" Hope you enjoy and we will see you next week!
Another first on the No Outlet podcast! Had a guest cancel for the first time and instead of missing a week, we tried something new...a TV show watch along to an episode of the Bill Hader Dark Comedy "Barry"! Spoiler Alert...if you have not watched the first 2/5 seasons this watch along may ruin...then again, it may not?
So, find the 6th Episode of the 3rd season and listen to some commentary and random thoughts!
There is a lot to fix but you have to start somewhere and, thankfully, we have Matt and Amelia taking care of a lot and checking boxes every day. We talked about the three year "runway to normal" (what's that?), meeting mom during Covid, becoming a Nomad in the 21st century, where not to park snow blowers, we answer the question "how many addresses can two people have inside of 2 months", are they really the roommates that leave no trace?, can the snooze button be ignored?, what is the game plan when a hell-cat goes AWOL, how much fun is it to sand poorly applied stain, what are the consequences of an overly cautious mortgage underwriter, waiting for a rotten ceiling to fall in can be fun, speaking of fun...no matter what you do it's very important, Key (major key) advice to all new homeowners, what projects are next and we unveil their brand new theme song among several other VERY important topics! We hope you all enjoy the conversation and get as much from it as we did!
Big show tonight folks and another first for the No Outlet Podcast! Dining out...laughing with friends, enjoying a finely crafted cocktail and experiencing the skill of a well trained Chef all in a fun relaxed atmosphere. It's not surprising that (most) people love to go out to dinner. Tonight we are lucky enough to have Chris Caddy, the Head Chef and owner of Savannah Kitchen in Newmarket NH, live in studio. Newmarket is a hidden gem in the NH seacoast area…close to Portsmouth, the beaches and home to cool shops, unique buildings, great live music and historical sites as well as some really outstanding dining establishments. Savannah Kitchen is one of my favorite spots in Newmarket and if you have not tried it yet, I recommend that that you make plans to do so! Located in an old Mill building in the center of Newmarket, It has an amazing atmosphere that is equally matched by it’s super friendly staff and out of this world food! Chris was nice enough to join us in the No Outlet Studio and we had a great conversation. We talked about why he chose Newmarket, who his favorite Beatle is and why, what chefs have influenced him the most, some odd food he has tried, the importance of treating your employees well (amen!), his Mount Rushmore of reasons to visit Savannah Kitchen, his thoughts on Celebrity Chefs on the food network (may surprise you), the reason why he choose to start a southern food in Yankee country, The signature dish at Savannah Kitchen, the dangers of not following the instructions on a 8 foot ladder, the importance of having top shelf alcohol for your patrons and the genius of Rick and Morty among many other fun/interesting topics! Do yourself a favor and make a trip to Newmarket NH, make a reservation at Savannah Kitchen and enjoy what an excellent restaurant experience is!
Amazing Guest Alert! As you all know, I have great respect for people who follow their passion. I also have great respect for parents who are balancing what they need to do in order to stay sane while making sure that their child (or children) is always looked after and cared for. Lindsey LaPointe, our guest tonight, has done that amazingly well…she is a photographer, and a writer who has published a book "Seacoast Hikes & Nature Walks" and her work has been published in Field and Stream (https://www.fieldandstream.com/authors/lindsey-lapointe/) as well as many other publications. She has runs a few Instagram pages @freelanceadventurer & @seacoasthikes, a tic toc page @freelanceadventurer and her expertly written blogs http://thefreelanceadventurer.blogspot.com/ have led to collaborations with Jack Wolfskin, Woom bikes, KOA, Mini Shades, club swimwear and many many more! Folks, if you are looking for motivation or a role model on how to stay busy and be productive all while doing something you love, well, you are listening to the right episode. We uncover the truth about Bigfoot, Gnomes (not the lawn type), the wisdom of understanding that your kids may get bored with you/your interests, her amazing list of locations (along with some favs), she provides us with her Mount Rushmore of Hikes, we learn about her guilty pleasure, the most annoying driving habit, her list of UFO encounters, her next trip, # of National Parks she has been to, we discuss hiking as therapy (or meditation...or both), best meal to cook on a hike, the best tent out there, the dangers of angry moose, the wonder of Pandora Algorithms and her favorite TV show (not what you think) along with many other interesting topics. It was an absolute pleasure to have her on the show and we hope you all enjoyed the conversation as much as we did!
