Special Guest, total dirt bag dump truck misogynist "J-Wak" (Unc's old time high school friend & once heroin companion) comes on the podcast to talk about his random skid row rehab hook ups with hotties, side bunkie drug encounters, and near miss muggings. Trigger Warning, the thoughts expressed by J-Wak are not endorsed or supported by Nod Squad or Unc and we do not take participation in his ideologies concerning our beloved female gender
Unc records one last time before making the transition from detox into rehab. Talks about whats been going on in his life while Top Tier Squadron / brethren member Marcus comes back on to tell his tale of how he hitchhiked from Florida all the way to California and everything that happened in between. This is a very special moment in Nod Squad history as both hosts of Nod Squad; Brian & Ryan are clean and practicing recovery, are finally reunited and living in Santa Barbara and will be podcasting together again for the first time in almost a year. Both are so very thankful to be at this moment and hope you are all doing well out there. Stay Safe, Stay Strong and Peace, Love & All of the Above.
A very very special episode of Nod Squad as Unc's EX GF Lindsey calls in to the podcast and the two update one another with how life has been since they last spoke. Amazingly, both Unc and his Ex are on good terms and close friends, showing that even Syd&Nancy/Kurt&Courtney drug relationships can have a happy ending. Some of the most debaucherous and intense stories are told on this one; that's all I will say. You will have to tune in and listen to hear for yourselves but I guarantee you will laugh your fucking ass off, cry in a weeping willow fashion, and then laugh again so hard your abdominal muscles will feel the burn on this top shelf episode of Nod Squad.
Good friend, fellow Dopey Nation & Brethren of our Squad Jeremy T calls in to describe what life is like at the best recovery center I know of; Bob Forest's Alo Recovery Center. He's been killing it in this game called life. Taking not only the leap of faith into treatment while at the same time relocating across the nation and immersing oneself into the most insane city of fallen angels is no easy task. Its a commitment to doing whatever it takes to improve his life and I am more than proud of him. Jeremy, if you're reading this you helped inspire me to get into inpatient myself and I'm glad to call you a friend. Hope you are all staying strong and staying safe out there and I love you brother.
Harm Reductionist Katie makes a special appearance to discuss exactly what Harm Reduction means for the addict themself as well as how it affects society as a whole & how safe injection sites have made a positive impact. She also discusses the current state of prohibition, aka the war on drugs, its history, and who it truly benefits; which isn't the addict or the loved ones surrounding them. This isn't our normal everyday podcast telling stories of our deviant past but is however a very informative and educational podcast that we know you will find entertaining on today's episode of Nod Squad.
Special Guest Tyler comes on with Unc to reminisce the glory days of living as an addict, touches briefly on the metaphor behind the addiction of the life compared to the addiction of the drugs themselves, life elsewhere compared to California, while also telling some tales of working at the mall of America while maintaining an active addiction as well as a painful to listen to precipitated withdrawals after shooting up suboxone ; even eating raw Kratom powder all on this kick to the pants themed episode of Nod Squad.
Special Guest CG Kid comes on Nod Squad to discuss the details behind his YouTube channel, the drug policies that have failed us as a society and how our current stigma towards the addict still struggling has done nothing but perpetuate the cycle of abuse within our country. You can check out his new podcast ( The CG Kid Podcast ) on Spotify, his YouTube channel CG Kid and website containing more content is available at www.shamelessprotocol.com
Unc says fare well to the squadron he loves so dearly as he departs for rehab. Tells some random tales of his encounters with the dead, getting scammed by online sex scammers, gives updates on Nod Squad, plays voice messages, the deviant tale of Twitch. PS Please write to Unc at the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission ; located at 535 E Yanonali St, Santa Barbara, CA 93103
Close friend and fellow Squad member "DoDo" (don't ask) comes on to discuss the police shootout / wrongful persecution against her ex bf; who will remain completely anonymous and hidden within the fogs of secrecy. DoDo (no not Dido, possibly grammy award winning musician. DoDo as in the bird I suppose) details the current situation regarding a courtroom "he said she said" vs corrupt police who refuse to take responsibility for the itchiness confined within their trigger fingers of their firearm wielding hands; no but rather they prefer to pin a wonky, full of holes, fairy tale of a story upon any & every junkie or tweaker within range of what their badge & utility belts can round together w/ the greatest of ease. We also have a handful of lovely compositions, remixes & VIPS from the very talented H8R Dubs ( SC link can be found here: H8R Dubs https://soundcloud.com/h8rdubs ). Unc reads a fan post and clickbaits his brethren in the Squad to some special surprises in the works coming next episode all in a very "run from the police" edition of Nod Squad.
This episode of Nod Squad takes us into the very frozen, war torn, fast paced city of Chicago. Known as Chiraq by the locals (a hybrid mashup of Chicago and Iraq) because of the record breaking gun violence rates despite having the strictest gun laws, Megan describes what its like to be an addict in a city where everyone and everything (even the weather) is trying to kill you. She also reveals the technique of hopping trains as a means to traveling around this great nation and how she used Kratom as a tool to get clean. Don't mind the gun shots fired in the background of this episode, as we have a new soundboard to censor out snippets of our interview that needed to be kept private. We hope you enjoy this dangerous yet exciting episode of Nod Squad.
