The Saints signed running back Ty Montgomery on Friday. Another Running back signing in the middle of last week as Chris Thompson signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags were busy and also signed QB Mike Glennon. DeAndre Baker and Quinton Dunbar were arrested on 4 counts of armed burglary on Thursday. The NFL’s diversity committee is attempting to further incentivize NFL teams to hire minorities into GM, head coaching and QB coaching positions by improving the teams draft picks if they do so. Among those are Mitchell Trubisky, the Jags’ running back Leonard Fournette, John Ross WR of the Bengals, Solomon Thomas of the Niners and Corey Davis, wide receiver for the Titans. The Bengals released Andy Dalton this week. The former second round pick quickly signed a one year deal with the Dallas Cowboys. After quite a bit of uncertainty leading up to last week's episode, Jameis Winston did sign with the Saints eventually. His 1 year deal is worth 1.1 million. The KC Chiefs picked up the 5th year option for Patrick Mahomes. No surprise. Mahomes says that he’s focused on winning another title, but is confident a long term deal will get done. With College football having more variables to consider than the NFL in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL may play games on Saturdays this fall. Christian McCaffrey signed a 4 year, $64,000,000 contract with the Carolina Panthers, including an average annual salary of $16,000,000.
