non stop whompers

oi oi saveloī 🌭happy weekend and welcome to another instalment of non stop whompers.

what can we say about this one? well it starts strong. very strong. some of my favourite ever blends, genuinely. around halfway things change and it gets very messy and confused.

theres a loving shout out to some longtime listeners of the show: the one and only Clez and as always a spectrum from arabic rap to south asian roots music, an indian banger that went viral in china, german hammond organ a rolling belgian dnb roller, and thats just the first 20 minutes. enjoī

whhaaaaaaattttttt its non stop whompers, lock down your aerial

this episode looks back on a week of birthday celebrations for our host and leader, with a set of tunes spanning 4 continents and every bpm you cd imagine

including many self-indulgent shout outs to people that listeners may not know, and stories that people may not care about, please forgive me

moooore whompers

this show was an absolute blast. me myself, uncle stan and dj cheeky half got loose on a tuesday valentines night.

I found out afterwards that they got through a bottle of absolute vodka infused with a packet of percy pigs during the show. explains why they were loving the selections so much.

we ran the full gamut: old billie holiday and nina simone records, 90s soul from aaliyah, psychedelia from doris, latin from sonora ponceña and lots of bass from the likes of izco, dubkasm, paleman, quavo & takeoff and the bug

recorded live at Crate Brewery in the summer summer summer time next to a canal. at one point a guy arrived shirtless on a paddle board and came in for a drink.

lots of nice oldies and nice bands in this one, with some amapiano and roni size thrown in for good measure. it's a summer drifter.

a mix of future jazz and soul from the uk with some old school hip hop and 50s swing thrown in.

originally broadcast on the artful, articulate Aaja Radio
