Dante wasn’t a fan of Epicurus and his materialistic views, and definitely didn’t appreciate some guy telling people there was no afterlife because God didn’t really care about ‘em. Enough about that though. Epicurus is only a small part of this circle.

Noodles Al Dante Ep. 8 Canto 9 Circle 5 City of Dis

Erictho is a witch found in Roman literature. Notably Lucan’s Pharsalia… yeah, I’ve never read it, and I’m not going to for the sake of this project. From what I understand though, in it Erictho is a necromancer. She lives in cemeteries and can be found on battlefields, collecting body parts for spells. She can raise the dead and force spirits to show her the future.
