James Baker of In The D3FB Huddle joined Matt Noonan for the first of many appearances on the Noontime Sports Podcast -- JB and Matt will be recording a few shows over the next few weeks to discuss the upcoming New England NCAA D-III football season. On today's show, JB and Matt discuss our WAY TOO EARLY New England D-III Top 20 poll -- any surprises? -- and then begin our early-season outlook for the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), which will feature three new head coaches.

Trevor Haas of Boston Dot Com/Boston Globe and the Duxbury Clipper (Sports Editor/Reporter) joined Matt Noonan to discuss a slew of local Massachusetts sports topics, including Boston College football playing Alabama in 2031 and 2034, who should be the next coach of the Boston Celtics, and to what he created/produced from a hyperlocal angle during the pandemic in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

James Baker, who is the co-host of In The D3FB Huddle, joined Matt Noonan for a brand new Noontime Sports Podcast -- the show was recorded on Monday, June 7, so you may hear something like the Boston Red Sox earned a weekend sweep of the New York Yankees. 

Both Baker and Noonan discuss the past year of college athletics, specifically small college football. Additionally, the two discuss some changes coming to NCAA D-III football, along with an early outlook on what teams we should watch, both here in New England and from other parts of the country. In addition to some football talk, Noonan and Baker discuss the opening weekend of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), Pac-12 football games being played at 12 p.m. eastern and yes ... the Boston Red Sox (quickly, of course!). 

Earlier this week, Duke University men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski announced he would be retiring after the 2021-22 school year. But before he begins his final season with the Blue Devils, Coach K met with the media, along with family, friends, and former players on Thursday to reflect on an impressive career that has culminated in national championships -- five, to be exact -- and gold medals -- also, five, to be exact. 

But one thing our host/producer Matt Noonan felt was important to discuss -- and yes, reflect on -- was when Coach K faced adversity, he received help from former Duke athletic director Tom Butters, along with others. Noonan shares why believing in someone, especially like Coach K, who struggled from the get-go with the Blue Devils, is important. Additionally, Noonan shares some folks, including his father, who have and continue to believe in him as he treks forward on this content creation and podcasting journey.
